INTRODUCTIONThis publication, intended for road users, condenses the Highway Safety Code and attendant regulations. It reiterates theirmajorprovisions,remindsthereaderoftherulesoftheroad andofferspracticaladvice. Allroadusers,whethertheyarepedestrians,cyclists,motor vehicleoperatorsorpassengers,willfindtheirrightsandobligaions t setforthinthisHandbook. Thiseditionincludestheparticularrequirementsofeachclass oflicence,thetermsforobtainingadisabledparkingpermit,new measuresthatconcernthedrivingofamotorvehicleunderthe influenceofalcohol,includingtheobligation,atthefirstoffence, to submit to a summary evaluation conducted by a specialist fromtheFdrationqubcoisedescentresderadaptationpour les personnes alcooliques et toxicomanes for individuals with addictions,andrequiringthemandatoryuse,insomecases,ofan alcoholignitioninterlockdevicebeforealicencecanbereinstated.
