IAITC MECHANICAL DEPARTMENTJan 20th - March 31st Presented By K.AnilOBJECTIVESsemesters 2-2 and 3-2 have started on 19 of January To meet the objectives Students have been reminded the academic rules and regulations regarding To achieve the above the undertakings from the students were taken who disobey the college regulations , but to receive the parents undertaking has been a difficult task.

Keeping these in mind the faculty tried to work towards it but this plan did not worked efficiently.

Nearly 30 members from both 2nd and 3rd year are having attendance less than 80 %Regarding syllabus completion every thing is going as per the schedule and no deviations from them.Inspite of some problems like

The students absent during the first week of the semester, Invigilation duties of the faculty during semester, Long leaves of M.tech pursuing faculty, Resignation faculty etc..

Our faculty have started their syllabus and tried to cope up with our scheduled time table and running as per the schedule now .Some minor problems regarding facilities like seminar halls ,projectors, library timings of the students, etc created some disturbances.Managing those ups and downs in the academic schedules it was very difficult to monitor the drs and some regular follow-up's (lack of time)Success of the organization is also based on students co-operation with us. There were some requests from the students :Cad/cam classes : They requested for cad / cam classes to be conducted in the college by external institutes which are the important core software of mechanical engineering .library : timing of library coincide with college timing (i e ; 9:30 am to 4:10 pm . They are not able to utilize the library facilities with such timings . It is better to extend the library timings atleast for two hours as it was earlier. This is to be given high priority because library is the only place where the lectures hard work regarding LP, PPT, content, mock papers, imp subjective objective questions, etc can be received / understand by the students due to lack of this bridging between faculty and students the total work is going vain. In response to the above I have Spoken to some of the institutes and inform the principal about them , there was a good support from our principal , but some disturbances created in this process with students itself and had left the decision to the students.2-1 and 3-1 Were declared last month and were satisfactory

Detailed 2-1 marks reportDetailed 3-1 marks reportThese respective subject faculty were asked to report the marks analysis on their subject and also the corrective measurements to be taken to avoid such results and improve the pass% . Their views on the subject and ideas to improve the pass% were as follows:analysis based on mid marks of running sem 3-2 Sl.nosubno of students attended mid examsstudents who are very weak in mid examsPLAN OF ACTION FOR INCREASING PASS PERCENTAGE1TE/B.Kishore100TE is completely derivative & problematic subject which is little tough . Very few students scored good marks in mid - 1 .Even the lateral entry studentsb are not able to catch up to the mark as they are weak in derivatives and integration. It is being hard to concentrate on students with external works.2FMHM/SADHANA98FMHM is a derivative & problematic subject . Some students scored good marks in mid - 1 , but this semister I would like to concentrate on weak students , by making them to practice more num of important problems using tutorial classes. It is being hard to concentrate on students with external works.3KOM/RATNAKAR98KOM is a core subject regarding mechanisms , audio visuals are more helpful to make students understand the concept . But regarding problems with weak mathematical background it is being very tough to complete the syllabus as per the schedule. It is being hard to concentrate on students with external works.4PT/RAMA KRISHNA100PT is a technical subject reg industrial production equipments. In first mid their performance was good . By audio visuals shown in the class helped them more to understand the subject . Contuning the same for 2nd mid will show good reults . I will make use of tutorial classes for audio visuals and i assure you that 80% of the students will get good marks reg this subjects. It is being hard to concentrate on students with external works.5M/C DRAWING / JAYRAJ97practice in the drawind lab is sufficient for students to get good marks. Audio visuals will be used to make the concept clear and visualise the drawing pattern in step wise .analysis based on mid marks of running sem 3-2 Sl.nosubno of students attended mid examsstudents who are very weak in mid examsPLAN OF ACTION FOR INCREASING PASS PERCENTAGE1HT/harish46HT is completely derivative & problematic subjectwhich is very tough among all the subjects. Very few students scored good marks in mid - 1 .Even the lateral entry studentsb are not able to catch up to the mark as they are weak in derivatives and integrations . PLAN : this difficult level can be overcomed by making them to solve & practice more num of problems repeatedly. On this regard i have prepared a set of questions which can enhance their problem solving skills. FOR WEAK STUDENTS : there are some important derivations which repeats more in sem examinations & so making them practice those derivations with the proper use of data book may help to inchease the over all pass % in this subject .2ROB/bindu64Robotics is an interesting subject, where students can gain knowledge when the teaching is more interactive.Based on the firtst mid marks toppers are given the oppurtunity to make a group of 4 and monitor them reg assignments & see that every student must hav the material ,ppt, content, audio visuals, imp ques etc and have a necessary followup. 3MET/rajesh60Metrology is a complete theory subject reg instruments used in our daily life to measure the objects. It is completely based on representation of paper . As it has more diagrams and flow charts pass % can be improved by improving the presentation skills by a neat sketch and the step wise working principle . this can be achieved by ppt and audio visuals in class rooms . these are already being done in classroom . and timetable schedule is enough to do so. 4ICS/ratnakar67ICS is also a complete theory subject reg instruments used in our daily life to measure the objects. It is completely based on representation of paper . As it has more diagrams and flow charts pass % can be improved by improving the presentation skills by a neat sketch and the step wise working principle . this can be achieved by ppt and audio visuals in class rooms . these are already being done in classroom. and timetable schedule is enough to do so. 5IEM/balaji sir49IEM IS AN INDUSTRIAL MANAGEMENT SUBJECT , It is ALSO completely based on representation of paper . As it has more diagrams and flow charts pass % can be improved by improving the presentation skills by a neat sketch and the step wise explanations . this can be achieved by ppt in class rooms . these are already being done in classroom . and timetable schedule is enough to do so. 6DMM-2/raja ratna52DMM-2 is a problematic subject . According to students psychology they fear more when exams are getting nearer and remember more when they are practiced more no of problems at the ending days of semister . Keeping this in mind my plan is to complete syllabus before two weeks . in 1st one week i will make a revision of total syllabus with practicing and tips to attend the exam more efficiently . in the 2nd week i will conduct 2 mock tests , exactly as main exams with 4 sets , followed by doubts clarifications and improvizations on exam representation by students will be dicussed with them based on mock tests. this can also create a competative spirit among students. Finally summarizing this whole ppt , I would like to share a few words A) To improve attendanceThough we are liberal at internal marks , we have to make a difference between students by varying their internal marks which is in our hands . This brings a competition between them. Our students are not being motivated , and also not at all afraid of attendance or detention . Being strict is the only way to improve attendance. B) To Improve marksFrankly speaking our mechanical department have three categories of students :

Excellent LE students (30%) our effort is to motivate them and show the path , they will run for their life.

Average students (30%) who can be motivated and our general effort on them will give good results. They can be paired with LE students also in some cases to build a competition between them.

Thirdly stone like students (40%) . we should become a sculpture for them . They dont want to get themselves shaped, but it is our necessity to beat them as required using different tools and bring them to a shape. For this to happen I have planned to separate them and brainwash them then apply only that pressure which is enough to get them shaped.

c) To improve facility utilization.D) To Improve cleanliness in campus ( hostel & college) As described in the previous slides . No more extra facilities are required in our college. The only problem is library timings which is creating a gap between students and faculty.

If library timings are extended a bit for the students, the work done by faculty can be understood by them and it will become easy to monitor LE and average students.

At the same time faculty can work more to become a sculpture and the third category students can be more focused .the fact is that ,at every angle these students play an important roll in organization and individual growth. The most common proverb generally we listen and leave it is cleanliness is next to godliness . The God (a noun) may or may not exist but godliness (a quality) will always exist.

For this to happen in college and hostel each and every staff (irrespective to branch and teaching and non teaching ) must have a minute monitoring and also should be very very strict towards it, than that strictness which we are at academics.

This must also include punishments (from which they should not suffer but learn something new from that punishment) not the reinforcement as in academics. we are working on lesson plans, teaching plans, content, ppt etc for the next semester

But the work is not accurate. We have 9 faculty members in mech dept.out of these 2 of them given resignations.3 of them pursuing Mtech for which they are having long leaves for exams, project works. In such situations it is difficult to manage and engage the classes to cope up with the schedule which in turn is effecting our process of preparing lesson plans etc for the next semester.

Even though we will try our best to complete the task as per your given date.As an In charge I Always be in touch with students and try to motivate them , collect the feed back from the student, know their problems and requirement in the college.

Always be in touch with my faculty also motivating them towards work knowing their problems reg implementing the plans and ideas
