2.0 Quarterly events organized by E-cell

The Entrepreneurship Cell aims to ignite creative thinking and nurture entrepreneurial

instincts in students. The Cell hopes to achieve this by conducting stimulating

workshops, competitions and interactive sessions with eminent personalities who are

role models when it comes to business development. The Cell's ultimate vision is to

create independent business entities out of interested students so that they not only

become self-employed but also become capable of providing gainful, fulfilling

employment to others and thereby benefiting society at large.

3.0 Event -I

Title of Event : “Startup”

Report

The Wheels of economy run through phases of Growth, Saturation and Decay, with growth rate of

traditional business waning, the need of the hour is alternatives i.e. Startup's.

To address the requirements of time the E CELL of Bharati Vidyapeeth’s College of Engineering

Lavale, Pune had organized a session on Startup's by a Techno-Legal expert, Mr.AnandMahurkar, on

18th July2019, in the Mechanical Seminar Hall.

Mr. Anand Mahurkar had conducted more than 100 awareness programs on legal aspects in business,

IPR and other areas of Start-up.

He was warmly welcomed and felicitated by the HOD’s present in the function.

The session was aimed at developing an entrepreneurial attitude among the students by motivating

them towards building a great start-up and also patent filling.

Around 200 students from all streams, including the department HOD’s and faculty membershad

participated enthusiastically in the program.

The session was enthralling and the seeds for an intellect towards entrepreneurship were sown deep

into the minds of our budding students.

Overall the event was a grand success. The knowledge of the guest speaker in all the given aspects

was beyond expectations.

The session concluded on a very high note with a Q&A that saw very active participation, of not

only the students but the faculty members as well.

This event was well organized by the E-Cellmembers,guided by Dr.Nidhi Jain, along with the

immense support of our Principal Dr.R.N.Patil Sir.

Bharati Vidyapeeth’s College of Engineering Lavale, Pune, Entrepreneur Cell organized i2e (Ideas-

To-Enterprise) Competition to encourage and motivate students from the college to present their

ideas and inherit some valuable knowledge from the judges of the competition on how they can work

on their ideas to become an entrepreneur.

The competition started with Saraswati Pooja and lamp lighting by the judges of the competition Mr.

Anil Vasudeo Chaitanya and Mr. Paresh Yadav who themselves are successful entrepreneurs in their

respective fields and was graced by Prof. Dr. Shikha Bhardwaj, Prof. Uday Patkar, Prof. S. R. Patil,

Prof. A. B. Wani, Prof. Dr. Nidhi Jain. Prof. U. S. Patil felicitated the Guest of Honour. Faculty Co-

ordinators Prof. Prajakta Pawar, Prof. Leena Choudhary, Prof. S. P. Dhamone, all faculty members

and non- teaching staff gave their valuable time in arranging and motivating students to attend this

competition.

This competition is organized by SPPU to encourage more and more students from the colleges to

become self-employed and start their own firm by transforming their ideas into an enterprise. There

are 3 levels for this competition:

Level I: Internal Competition in the college: College will select two teams out of participating teams

that will go to the next level.

Level II: Intra College Competition: Two teams from respective colleges shall compete within the

cluster created by CIIE. There are seven clusters created for this purpose. All the qualifying teams

shall undertake “Beginners Course on Entrepreneurship” on the LMS of SPPU.

Level III: Final i2e Competition: Two teams from each cluster compete for the third level from seven

clusters total twenty-one teams shall qualify competition of finals.

This was the first level of the competition and students showcased their ideas in front of the judges in

the time allotted to them. The judges then asked some questions to the participants regarding the

ideas they presented. Total 10 teams from the college participated in the internal competition. The

participants were Himanshu Saraf, Shubham Songire, AtharvJangam, Saurabh Parmar, Karan Ahire,

RudraniYevatikar, Aditya Chandhoke and Saurabh Dharwadkar. The first session was the

competition which went on from 10 am to 1 pm.

The next session continued after the lunch break where the guests and the judges shared their views

on this competition and gave some valuable advice to the participants. They also shared the points

where self-employment and entrepreneurship would be a great thing in the future. And then the

moment arrived where the winners of the competition were to be declared.

First distribution ceremony was graced by Dr. Apoorva Palkar who is the Director of the Center for

Innovation, incubation and Enterprise, SPPU,

The winner of the i2e competition of the first level was “HSPM Solutions” and the runners-up was

“Build Up City”.

The event was a successful one because of the huge appreciation and over whelming response.

Thanks to student coordinatorsKartikee, Huzaif, Mahima and other students who directly or

indirectly involved in arranging and making this event a successful one. Anchoring was done by

computer department students Huzaif and Mahima.

On 15th

October, 2019 E-Cell, BVCOEL, in association with ZODIACS STUDENTS COUNCIL presented

the WORLD STUDENTS’ DAY CELEBRATION in remembrance of the former President of India,

Bharat RatnaDr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam on his birth anniversary. The event was attended by students of first

and second year.

The event commenced at 02:30 p.m. with the inauguration ceremony of the Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam

reading club by the honourable Chief Guest Madhurie Singh, followed by Saraswati Pooja by the chief

guest, Principal Sir and all HOD’s.

A brief introduction of Zodiacs Students Council was given by HuzaifMujawar, a student of second year

(Computer Engineering). ZODIACS is a student driven council run by second year students of Bharati

Vidyapeeth’s College of Engineering, Lavale. It was started with an aim towards helping students develop

their all-round personality with the help of technical as well as non-technical activities that will benefit the

students.

Followed by the introductionof the chief guest for the event, Madhurie Singh, was felicitated by Dr.R. N.

Patil Sir,Principal BVCOEL. Madhurie Singh is a reviewer of educational institutes and products for

children. She delivered a speech about entrepreneurship. Students had an opportunity to understand the

various unspoken aspects of Start-ups through the interactive questions. The last session was of question

answer taken by herself.

After the chief guest’s interaction with the students, Dr. R. N. Patil, Principal, Bharati Vidyapeeth’s College

of Engineering, Lavale, Pune, addressed the audience with his speech and explained the importance of

personality development. The students were enlightened by the Principal’s address.

The event was concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Nidhi Jain, Head Coordinator, E-Cell.

6.0 E- Cell's ultimate vision

The Cell's ultimate vision is to create independent business entities out of interested

students so that they not only become self-employed but also become capable of

providing gainful, fulfilling employment to others and thereby benefit society at large.

6.1 Creating a conducive environment for formation of startups

Entrepreneurship development cell should provide a conducive environment to

guide students in right direction

To create an entrepreneurial culture in the Institution and promote research

objectives of BVCOEL, including financial benefits related to students and

faculty members.

To foster better linkages between the stakeholders, Industries, and R&D

institutions and other related organizations engaged in promoting Small &

Medium Enterprises.

To catalyze and promote the development of small-scale enterprises and

promote employment opportunities

To respond effectively to the emerging challenges and opportunities both at

national and international level relating to SMEs and Micro Enterprises.

6.2 Continuous Improvement and Sustainability

By organizing Guest lectures, Workshop, Seminars, Alumni meet, etc on a

recurring the basis for promotion and growth of E-cell at BVCOEL.

To conduct research work and survey for identifying entrepreneurial

opportunities.

To guide and assist prospective E-cell program at various aspects such as

identification of mentor pool from the local ecosystem

To act as an information center on business opportunities, processes,

technologies, market, etc. by creating and maintaining relevant databases.

To provide testing, calibration, quality assurance, design, tool room, pilot plant

and other facilities for E-cell programs besides expertise in Intellectual Property

rights, Patents search, etc.

To render advice to sick enterprises and assist the entrepreneurs in

rehabilitating them.

To conduct skill development training program leading to self/wage

employment.
