    With the experiences and learning of previous sessions rotaract club

    of SGGSCC moves forward to change perspective with a motto of be

    the change you wish to see.

    TIHAR REHABILITATION PROJECT

    Tihar Jail as the name suggests is a prison. They just dont believe in punishment

    they believe in rehabilitatingtheir inmatesby teaching them vocational skills.

    After coming in contact with the districtgovernor Mr. Vimal Mehra of Tihar Jail,

    rotaract club of New Delhi started an

    interior designing project for therehabilitation centre of the jail. The constantefforts of club President Rtr. Srishti Sharma,

    IPP Rtr. Riddhi Gupta, Senior Rtr. VickyDawla, Rtr. Garima Dang along with Club

    Secretary Rtr. Krishna Kandoi and othercore team members made this project possible. The Rotaractors were fortunate

    enough to meet the prisoners.10

    thJuly 2014was the day when the fruits of the hard work got reaped as it was

    the day of inauguration of the Rehabilitation - Healing Centre. DeputyGovernor and Chief Superintendent of Tihar graced the occasion. The ceremony

    concluded with planting of saplings by the dignitaries.

    PETS SETS

    President Elect Training Session (PETS)and Secretary Elect Training Session

    (SETS)were organized by the Rotaract District 3010. The event was held on 19th

    July, 2014 at Adarsh Public Schoolunder the supervision of DRR Nikoonz

    Aggarwal. President Rtr. Srishti Sharma and Club Secretary Rtr. Krishna Kandoiattended the session.

    Presentations and seminars to train the new aspirants were carried out by highly

    skilled counselors. Rotaractors were asked to conduct their SWOT Analysisandwork on it. Highly motivating words of Rtn. Ajay Kumar concluded the event. The

    session proved fruitful for all the attendants.

    VISIT TO MANTHAN SCHOOL, PATEL NAGAR

    Manthan, the Supplementary school inWest Patel Nagar is a true

    characterization that Happiness is notsomething readymade. It comes from

    our own actions. President Rtr.Srishti Sharma, Senior Rtr. Vicky

    Dawla,Club Secretary Krishna Kandoi,Vice President Pulkit Tekchandani

    and Treasurer Ishita Aggarwal paid a

    surprise visit there on 23rd July,2014. It was followed by an

    interactive session between the rotaractors and manthan students.

    They played games, distributed sweets and had a wonderful timewith them. The

    joy and smiles on the faces of the students clearly indicated the Healthy, Cheerfuland Learning environment there.

    MEET WITH DISTRICT GOVERNOR

    The club President Srishti Sharma and Vice President Pulkit Tekchandani got the

    golden opportunity to meet District Governor Sanjay Khanna at Ashoka Hotel

    on 24

    july 2014. They spoke about the clubs past achievements and projects andfuture perspective as well. The club was appreciated and was held in high regard.

    DAC INSTALLATION CEREMONYOn 25th July, 2014 Installation Ceremony for the District Administrative

    Committee was organized by the Rotaract District 3010 wherein the DRR andother members of DAC for the session 2014-2015 were officially pinned. It was a

    proud moment for the club to witness pinning ofRtr Riddhi Gupta, rtr GarimaDang and rtr Garima Gulati .Rtr Srishti Sharma and Rtr. Ishita Aggarwal alsoaccompanied them for the occasion.

    Orientation Ceremony

    Orientation ceremony and auditions for recruitments were held on 7th

    august

    2014 which turned out be an extremely successful event. The club had the honor

    of the presence of District Rotaract Representative (DRR) Rtr. Nikoonz Agarwal

    and District Secretary (DS) Rtr. Harsh Sarohi. The club received 500+ applications

    for membership which broke all the records of the past.

    The event also witnessed the presence of the Founder President of the club Rtr.

    Nishtha Sharma and other senior members Rtr. Srishti Goel and Rtr. Raghav Goel.

    With the fresh inducted talent the rotaract club of SGGSCC sets to achieve new

    goals.

    VISIT TO SAINT JOSEPH MEMORIAL ORPHANAGE

    Club's core team members paid a visit to

    Saint Joseph Memorial Orphanage at

    Adarsh Nagar on 16th

    august 2014. The

    visit was really interesting as club membersmet the children, played with them and

    presented them with eatables like juicesand chips. Such visits prove encouraging

    for the members as it provides them withdetermination to help the needy and

    neglected, and spread smiles on their faces.

    AUDITIONS AND FUND RAISING PROJECTThe 2nd round of auditionsfor the new team was a fund raising drive held on 19

    th

    august 2014, whereby the young aspirants were asked to raise funds for the up

    gradation and development of Manthan Schoolin West Patel Nagar.The taskfocused on judging the freshers on their convincing skills. The vibrant freshers

    managed to raise a sum of around Rs.50000 for the school.

    GREEN HOPE, TIHAR JAIL

    The club organized its first mega event Green

    Hope on 21staugust 2014, the Tree Plantation

    Drive at Nirmal chhaya, Jail Road,Tilak Nagar

    in collaboration with Government of India. The

    able guidance of Mr. Arun Tyagi, Assistant

    Superintendent helped the club in completing this

    event. The occasion was graced by Rotarian

    Kashish Chandan and District Rotaract Secretary

    Harsh Sirohi. A team of 55 rotaractors were

    directed by PWD Horticulture experts and they

    planted 350 saplingsin a mere time of 4 hours. This enhances the aim of the

    project CLEAN DELHI, GREEN DELHI.

    ANTARDRISHTI

    On 3rd

    September 2014the core team of the Rotaract Club of SGGSCC, made a

    visit to Antardrishtis factory outletwhich is located at Peeragarhi. Antardrishti

    is an initiative of Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan (DJJS)to enabling blind people.

    They manufacture soaps, candles,

    cookies along with handicrafts.We

    express our greatest gratitude to the

    coordinator Sadhwi Pragya Bharti

    Jiand our super senior-Rtr. SrishtiGoyal and Rtr Vicky dawla for their

    great sensitivity towards the

    organization. The visit was

    enlightening for the members as they

    met the factory ownerwho shared

    her experiences. The members got inspired by the liveliness of the visually

    impaired people and will put their best foot forward to help them in installing stalls

    at various fests and will volunteer for the same.

    BLOOD DONATION CAMP

    rakt daan karke dekho, acha lagta hai

    On 7th

    September 2014was the day of the

    Annual Mega Blood Donation Camp atMetro Walk, Rohini. It was organized

    under the leadership of President Rtr.

    Srishti Sharma and club Secretary Rtr.

    Krishna Kandoi. There were two operating

    buses at the camp site, one of Rotary

    Blood Bank, Tughlaqabadand the other

    of Rotary Blood Bank Noida. The new

    team proved its mettle by collecting 273

    units of blood, breaking the previous

    records of 271units. Club's mentor Rtn.

    Kashish Chandan supported the team throughout. The presence of Rotaract District

    Secretary, Rtr. Harsh Sirohi was very inspiring for the team. The event also saw

    the enthusiastic participation of many alumni members including Rtr. Raghav goel,

    rtr sushant jain, Rtr. Sristhi goyal, Rtr.Vicky Dawla, Rtr. Aakriti Gautam and Rtr.

    Harshika Bathla.

    SAHYOG 1.0

    The Rotaract Club of Sri Guru Gobind

    Singh College of Commerce commenced

    an Initiative: Sahyog 1.0, in Association

    with Delhi Ashokafor pulling out J&K

    from its flood issues.It was a 3-Day

    collection driveheld from 16th

    to 18th

    September 2014in the College Premises.

    We would like to express our greatest

    gratitude towards our club convener Dr.

    Simarpreet Kaur for her guidance.

    Cartons were placed all over the college campus and a total of 15 cartonswere

    accumulated, comprising of Woolen & Cotton Clothing for both, Men & Women,

    Medicines, blankets and Packaged Food items. The drive truly characterized out

    motto of donating whatever you can

    SAHYOG 2.0

    Sahyog 2.0was an extension to sahyog 1.0. It was done in Shalimar Baghdistrict

    under expert guidance of Shrimati Mamta Nagpal, Area Counselor of Shalimar

    Bagh.

    It was a threeday project, which materialized on 20thtill 22ndSeptember 2014.

    The day-wise details are:

    Day1

    The club in association with the

    Bhartiya Janta Partypromotedthe

    projectand its requirements in 40

    blocks of Shalimar Bagh. The club

    members met the Presidents and

    Vice Presidents of each block and

    explained them about the project.

    Day2

    Initially this was the only day of collectionsbut the people from all over Shalimar

    Bagh came forward and donated a lot of material. Our hearts leaped to see the

    overwhelming response of residents of Shalimar Bagh that we decided to extend

    our drive for another day.

    Day 3

    It was the concluding dayof the

    project. The collections kept on

    coming until 3pm and then

    rotaractors segregated all the

    material and packed all the

    donations into cartons. The club

    received 8 cartons of mens

    clothes, 20 cartons of womens clothes, 5 cartons of childrens clothes, 2

    cartons of toiletries, 4 cartons of warm blankets, 115kgs of rice, 25kgs of flour,5 cartons of biscuits, and other materials like baby cerelac, shoes etc. This

    project was a huge success and the club expresses its gratitude towards Shrimati

    Mamta Nagpal and Bhartiya Janta Party for their enthusiastic support and looks

    forward in doing more such projects in future.The club actually achieved its desire

    of making people understand that The purpose of life is to be useful, to make

    some difference.

    DEBATE COMPETITION ORGANIZED BY RCND

    A conventional debate competition was organized by our parent club RotaractClub of New Delhion 25thSeptember 2014 .the debate was on the topic the

    current education system in India is inadequate to prepare Indian youth to face

    challenges of 21stcentury. A team of two rotaractors went for the debate and our

    speaker Rtr Dipanka Trika won the 1stprize.

    NOT JUST WORK

    Rotaract is not just about work and work and work, it is a complete package of

    experience, fun, exposure, work, helping society and improving our social

    quotient.

    FUTURE PROJECTS

    The club is going to expand its initial Manthan School project in West Patel

    Nagar. As the club rose another Rs. 50000 is thus, planning to construct 3

    more classrooms for 3rd, 4thand 5thstandard on the 1stfloor of the same

    property in Patel Nagar.

    The club has an insight to work towards women empowerment.

    Consortium 2015 is the clubs annual rotaract fest which has been turning

    out to be a great success in past and is being planned on a larger scale in the

    upcoming year.

    The club is planning to organize Blood donation camps at GIP NOIDA and

    in college soon.

    The biggest project of the club for the session will be slum rehabilitation

    project which involves providing the slum residents with the basic

    necessities like water, electricity, sanitation etc in association with the

    government of India.

    SAHYOG 1.0 a collection drive for J&K flood victims in college from 16-18

    Sahyog 2.0 was a collection drive done in Shalimar bagh from 20-22 September

    A Debate competition was organized by rcnd on 25 September 2014which brought

    another laurel to the club as the club won 1

    prize in debating.

    The Rotaract Club of SGGSCC continues to prove its
