• 250 or more employees or

• annual turnover and its annual balance sheet exceed £42.5m and £36.5m, respectively.

• Corporate groups that contain one qualifying organisation require the whole group to comply

• It excludes public sector organisations (but includes third-sector organisations)

• Allows franchisees to ‘opt in’ to group reporting

• Determine total energy consumption over 12 month reference period

• Identify areas of significant consumption: >90% of overall consumption

• Select most appropriate route to compliance

• Lead Assessors to conduct / supervise audits and approve ESOS assessments

recommendations

• Submit formal notification to the compliance body
