AMERICAN LEGION COMMUNITY SERVICE AWARDA $300 award will be given to a graduating senior selected for participating in an activity such as the ecology club, fund drives (heart, cancer, etc.), serving as a nurses’ aide or attendant at a snack room service counter at a hospital, membership in scouts, or anything else along these lines.

ANNA W. NEAMAND MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIPThe Anna Neamand Memorial Scholarship, in the amount of $100, will be presented to a student who excels in social studies in the study of political science. The student should have demonstrated their interest by active community service and an expressed desire to continue the study of political science and government.

BARRY T. HAWKEY AWARDThe Barry T. Hawkey award is a $1000 award given in memory of Barry T. Hawkey, class of 1977. Barry was a very active in high school and went on to be an Engineer, receiving his Master’s degree from Lehigh University. Barry enjoyed animals and also loved using his mechanical ingenuity in a variety of projects. Barry loved life and courageously fought against cancer. This award will be given to a student who is pursuing post-secondary education in the field of engineering, has earned a GPA of 3.5 or higher, and exhibits the qualities of leadership and compassion.

BARTH NASE SCHOLARSHIPAn amount of $100 will be awarded on an annual basis to a deserving senior in fond memory of John O. Barth and Curtis R. Nase. The recipient shall meet the following criteria: good academic standing, outstanding character, and genuine concern for students, faculty, and staff.

BASEBALL FOR SPECIAL PEOPLEThe mission of Baseball for Special People is to offer an amateur level baseball program for children and adults with physical/developmental disabilities. Baseball for Special People offers a $250 award in acknowledgement of students who have demonstrated interest in their fellow students with special needs and will go on to major in Special Education, as well as students who have persevered through academic challenges and will continue their education after high school.

BEAD SOCIETY OF EASTERN PENNSYLVANIAA $500 award will be presented to a graduating senior planning to attend college in one of the following arts and design programs: jewelry design, fashion design, crafts, photography or fine arts. BRUCE KNAUSS JR. BOYS’ SOCCER SCHOLARSHIPThis $500 award is given to a college bound senior on the boy’s high school soccer team who has met or exceeded certain academic requirements, who exemplifies respect, responsibility, character, sacrifice, and sportsmanship, and who has had a positive impact on the Quakertown High School and community. BUCKS COUNTY FOUNDATION MAURICE A. NEINKEN SCHOLARSHIPThis scholarship was created in 1964 to honor and help preserve the cultural legacy of the manufacturing industry in Bucks and Montgomery Counties. Recipients are chosen for academic excellence, outstanding character, extra-curricular activities, and community involvement. CLASS OF 1966 SCHOLARSHIPA cash award of $150 will be made to a student who is furthering their education within the state of Pennsylvania (college, business school, trade/technical school, nursing, etc.). CLASS OF 1987$75 will be awarded to a graduating senior who is planning to major in foreign language or international studies. If there is more than one applicant, the Foreign Language Dept. will decide based on the candidate’s academic record. First preference will be given to students who have taken more than one language in high school. CLASS OF 1988$100 will be awarded to a student who has dedicated exceptional service to the senior class and who has not received another award. Nominations for the scholarship will be made by the senior class advisor and voted on by the faculty. CLASS OF 1990 AWARD FOR CREATIVE EXCELLENCE$50 will be awarded to a graduate who has contributed his/her creative and artistic talents to the senior class. The recipient is nominated by the senior class officers and voted upon by the faculty.

CLASS OF 1992An award of $500 will be given to a student who is continuing his/her education and who has most promoted unity and spirit of camaraderie within the graduating class. The recipient should be determined by the class officers, class advisors, and other teachers closely involved with class activities.

CLASS OF 2013Students have participated in class unity/spirit activities and personify leading by example. The selected students worked to make school a better place for all of the students. Recipients may have participated in class council, honor society, etc. in a leadership role.

CLASS OF 2016The Class of 2016 Scholarship is awarded to two students who faced and overcame adversity while demonstrating academic achievement and personal resilience. The Class of 2016 celebrates the recipients’ ability to uphold the Class of 2016’s legacy of building each other up and acknowledging and celebrating each other’s accomplishments.

CLASS OF 2018The Class of 2018 awards the senior who exemplifies leadership by example. This senior demonstrates leadership through one of the following: promoting school community, creating and/or leading an initiative that benefits the student body, creating and/or leading an extracurricular club/activity (non-sports).

CLASS OF 2018 SUCCESS AND DETERMINATION AWARDThe Success and Determination award recognizes two students who have demonstrated, in an extraordinary way, the ability to overcome life’s obstacles in order to obtain his/her education. Overcoming obstacles could mean many things including overcoming illness, losing a parent, personal tragedy, difficult personal circumstances, and academic difficulties.

COACHES AWARDThis award is given to a male or female senior athlete who has lettered in two or more varsity sports over their high school career and has demonstrated abilities and attitudes in support of their team and athletes.

COBY ORTHODONTICS SCHOLARSHIP AWARDA $500 scholarship is awarded to a senior in good academic standing who demonstrates a positive attitude, community participation, and willingness to help others. DAVID EBERSBERGER MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIPEach year, the David Ebersberger Memorial Scholarship will award $50 to a college-bound student who has been accepted by a college or university by the time of the presentation of this award. The recipient shall plan to major in either education or medicine and must have participated in some type of volunteer community service during their high school career. DCP THEATRE MEMORIAM AWARDA graduating senior who is continuing his/her education at a college or university, majoring in Theater. DON J. SHAW MEMORIAL AWARDThe Don J. Shaw Memorial Scholarship Fund was established by family and friends to make it possible for deserving college-bound students from QCHS to benefit from Don’s legacy of leadership and academic excellence. Eligible students will best exemplify Don’s values of sportsmanship, dedication and perseverance in both the classroom and playing field. DORIS H. LOHMAN ARTS & CRAFTS AWARDAn art award of $100 is presented to a senior who has shown sincerity of purpose, originality, and creative spirit in the area of crafts, not necessarily a student planning to go to college. DOUGLAS PEIFFER MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP AWARDA $300 scholarship will be awarded to a senior boy or girl who has demonstrated an aptitude and academic excellence in social studies course work over his or her tenure at Quakertown Community Senior High School, who is involved in extracurricular activities such as music, drama, or athletics, and has a positive attitude towards school, the community and his or her fellow students. The student’s GPA should not be less than 3.0. DR. BELLE NEIMAN-MEASE MEMORIAL AWARDA $500 award will be presented to an outstanding senior accomplished in scholarship and athletics, pursuing a career in science, and whose personality, character, and friendship are held in highest esteem by classmates and community.

DR. GEORGE E. TAYLORThe Quakertown Community School Board will award $250 to a student who excels in Social Studies and who has demonstrated outstanding leadership potential. DR. JOHN D. ZETTLEMOYER MEMORIAL MARCHING BAND OR DRUM CORP AWARDThis award is given to the QCSD senior who demonstrates their love of the marching band and plans to participate in marching band in a college/university or DCI/DCA drum corps after graduating from high school. The applicant must be a member of the Quakertown Community High School Panther Marching Band for their junior and senior years. DR. WILLIAM KIRK SCHOLARSHIPAn award of $175 will be given to a deserving student who has successfully persevered through academic challenges, and who desires to further his or her post-secondary education in a career field. EARLE EUGENE MERKLE AWARDThe Earle Eugene Merkle Award will be given to three members of the senior class furthering their education after graduation. The students will be selected by the Guidance/Administration of QCHS and will meet at least one of the following criteria: overcoming adversity, significant academic improvement, and/or first generation college student. ESTHER M. GEHMAN MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP AWARDEach year, an award of $100 is made to a worthy senior who is planning to major in elementary education, with first consideration to one who has not received another award. FOREIGN LANGUAGE CLUB AWARDAwards are given to the students with exceptional performance in their study of German, Mandarin or Spanish and interest in the culture of China and the German and Spanish speaking world. FOUNDATIONS COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIP AWARDA $1000 award will be given to a student who exemplifies the best in community service, leadership, and responsibility. The student will have demonstrated community service, commitment to academic performance, and quality of character. The student will be nominated by the school and a committee from Foundations Community Partnership will make the final decision on whether the proposed candidate meets the criteria for this award.

GUIDANCE OFFICE SERVICE AWARDAn Awards will be given to deserving students to recognize general outstanding service to the school and community.

HAROLD & ARLENE STONEBACK MEMORIAL$100 award is presented each year to an outstanding student graduating from the Quakertown Community Senior High School. The high school administration/faculty/guidance will select the nominees for this award. The high school will make the final selection from the nominees. Students will be considered according to the criteria below: 1.Career Path – The student intends to pursue a career in teaching/education, particularly in, but not limited to, the areas of STEM education. 2. Character - the student possesses distinctive qualities that tend to set the individual apart from others. The student possesses the complex of mental and ethical traits which make them worthy of special recognition and reward. They are active participants in their community and have a distinct interest in education and/or working with children. 3. Leadership- The student shows evidence of the ability or tendency to guide or direct people or events to a desired end. They are one whose attitude, bearing, or demeanor causes them to be set apart from the group. 4. Scholarship-The student is one who perseveres in studies (not necessarily an outstanding achiever). They are one with an obvious respect for knowledge, particularly that which is related to a chosen field of study.

INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC AWARDA $100 award is presented by the instrumental music department to a senior who is a member of the band. Service, leadership, and musicianship determine the recipient of this award.

JAMES B. BEERER JR. PRINCIPAL’S AWARD An award of $100 has been established by the Student Government of Quakertown High School in honor of James B. Beerer Jr. It will be given to a senior who is furthering his or her education and whose actions have had a positive impact on other students, the school district, or the school community at large. The recipient of this award must exhibit caring and humanitarian behavior in addition to having demonstrated a commitment to academic achievement.

JANE TAYLOR GANT MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIPS A $750 award will be given to each of the students who are in the 99th percentile of the senior class. The award is in memory of Jane Taylor Gant who graduated from Quakertown High School in 1948 and was valedictorian of her class.

JOHN PHILIP SOUSA BAND AWARDThe John Philip Sousa Award honors a deserving senior who has participated in the instrumental music program at Quakertown High School. It recognizes superior musicianship, leadership, dependability, loyalty, and cooperation. The award consists of a white marble desk piece with a gold-finish medallion, a certificate and a gold-finish lapel pin.

JON WATERS MEMORIAL FOOTBALL AWARDA $500 award will be awarded to a senior football player who has achieved the highest grade point average in the graduating class.

JUDITH WEISS WAX MEMORIAL FUND$50 will be awarded to a deserving senior who is interested in pursuing a career in a literary field. The recipient should demonstrate the following qualities and characteristics: must possess excellent writing skills as documented and supported by the recipient’s English teacher, must be interested in a career associated with writing, publishing, or associated with journalistic endeavors, must be planning an education beyond high school, and should have been involved with legitimate writing endeavors during high school other than in the classroom.

KATIE STAUFFER MEMORIAL FUNDAn award of $250 will be given to a college bound senior who exemplifies the qualities that made Katie an exceptional young woman. The recipient will be a senior who exemplifies respect, kindness, responsibility, strength of character, optimism, and a happy spirit; a quiet but undeniable presence who achieves excellence through the determined pursuit of perfection. He or she will have shown academic excellence, a positive attitude, a strong work ethic, strong leadership skills, and good sportsmanship. The recipient will have participated in at least one sport and will have made a positive impact on the team, their teammates, and their school environment.

KENNETH ARNHOLT MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIPA $150 scholarship is presented by QMPO to a senior music student who plans to pursue a career in education. Qualifications include: participation in the senior high music program, registration in an approved college education program, demonstrated leadership, and has potential for success as a teacher.

KEYSTONE QUILTERS GUILD COMMENCEMENT AWARDAn award of $300 will be presented by the Keystone Quilters Guild to a deserving student who will further their education in the field of fashion design.

KIMBERLY & JAMIE REITNAUER MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIPA $600 award will be given by Grace Notes Studio to a graduating senior furthering his/her education in memory of Kimberly and Jamie Reitnauer, who are remembered for their talent, intelligence, optimism, and most of all, their unconditional love for those around them. The student will be nominated by the high school faculty and selected by a graduation award committee comprised of teacher(s), Guidance Counselor(s), and Administrator(s). The student must be in good academic standing and actively involved in at least one extracurricular activity. The committee will also consider his/her selflessness, willingness to help others, and overall character. In the event that there are multiple students who are considered of equal caliber in the selection process, preference will be shown to those with involvement in the instrumental and/or vocal music program.

LAURA WEINBERGER SCHOLARSHIPA $50 award will be given to a student enrolled in post-secondary education in pursuit of a degree Qualifications for this scholarship are that the recipient must plan on teaching as a profession, need, responsibility, preparation for course to be pursued, attitude and initiative.

LENAPE CHAPTER NO. 339 ORDER OF THE EASTERN STARAn award of $50 will be presented to two students who demonstrate community service and the awareness of the need to be active in the community. Showing kindness and assistance to fellow students are also very important to the school community.

LOUIS ARMSTRONG JAZZ AWARDThis award is presented to a senior student who has excelled in the Jazz Band Program at Quakertown High School. The award consists of a certificate, white marble desk piece with a bronze medallion, and a bronze-finish lapel pin.

MARGUERITE R. BECKER BUSINESS EDUCATION AWARDAn award of $75 is presented annually to a student chosen by the Business Department primarily on the basis of service to the department. The recipient should possess the qualities necessary to become an efficient and successful administrative assistant, accountant, or general office worker.

MARIAN R. AFFLERBACH MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIPA $100 award is presented annually to a graduating senior student who has been outstanding in athletics. This award is presented in the memory of Marian R. Afflerbach, who for many years was a physical education teacher in the senior high school.

MARK A. WIEDER SCHOLARSHIPThe Quakertown Community Education Association will present an annual award of $500 in memory of Mark A. Wieder. The recipient of this award will be a senior student who plans to major in elementary education or special education and is very involved in community activities.

MATTHEW VOYTKO MEMORIAL AWARDA $300 award will be given to a soccer player who participated in the J.V. and varsity programs. The recipient must have shown enthusiasm and individuality in playing the game and intends to further their education.

MILES F. TRUMBAUER MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP AWARDAn award of $1000 will be given to a student who plans on furthering their education in the engineering or finance field. The student should be of tremendous character and motivated to be involved in the community. The student should also demonstrate leadership qualities. MOMMA MONTONEY SCHOLARSHIPThe Quakertown High School Girls’ Volleyball team is awarding the “Momma Montoney” scholarship in honor of Maureen Montoney who lost her life to cancer in the spring of 2012. This scholarship will be awarded to a senior athlete who has been affected by cancer in some way. Each year the Quakertown Girls’ Volleyball team holds a special volleyball game during our season to raise money for cancer research.

NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY LEADERSHIP AWARDThis award recognizes outstanding service in all facets of QCHS’ National Honor Society.

NEIDIG ELEMENTARY AWARDAn award in the amount of $500 will be given to two graduating seniors who attended Neidig Elementary School and are planning on continuing their education in a field where they will be working to positively impact the lives of children. The recipients will have attained a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

OUTSTANDING ATHLETEThey are considered to be the outstanding athletes in their class.

PAULINE A. WILSON SCHOLARSHIPThe Pauline A. Wilson Scholarship was established to provide assistance to a student of Quakertown Community Senior High School. The student should possess good character and high ideals of citizenship. The recipient will be selected by the administrative personnel of the high school.

PENNRIDGE - QUAKERTOWN HALL OF FAME “MOST COURAGEOUS ATHLETE” AWARDThis award is given to a male and female athlete who, at some point in their high school athletic career, overcame adversity in order just not to compete, but to excel.

PETE CARTER MEMORIAL WRESTLING SCHOLARSHIPA $500 award is given to a senior who has met the following criteria: has enrolled in a post-secondary educational program, has wrestled for at least four years, and has demonstrated dedication to the sport. This award is given by the Pete Carter Memorial Fund, the Quakertown High School Wrestling Booster Club, and the Quakertown Youth Club Wrestling Organization.

PVT JOHN RIVERS MEMORIAL AWARDA $300 award will be given by the John Rivers Veterans Memorial VFW Post 113222 of Quakertown to a student involved in athletics. This senior must be either in the delayed enlistment program, going to a Military Academy or enlisting in the service, and have a minimum B average when graduating. The award is in memory of Marine PVT John Rivers of Applebachsville, PA. PVT John Rivers was killed in action on August 21, 1942 at Guadalcanal. He holds records in football at Quakertown High School.

QCEF PROMOTION OF THE ARTS & HISTORY AWARDThe Quakertown Community Educational Foundation (QCEF) is a local organization formed to provide and promote unique and meaningful educational experiences that supplement those already provided to students in the Quakertown Community School District. QCEF would like to acknowledge outstanding leadership in the areas of school clubs/organizations that serve the needs of the QCHS community. The students receiving this award went above and beyond expectations of typical time and effort required by membership. They will be awarded $500 to help defray the cost of post-secondary educational expenses.

QUAKERTOWN BAND INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC AWARDThis award is presented by the Quakertown Band. This $200 award is presented to the senior who has been outstanding in the marching and concert band. Leadership and service in all school activities is considered in selecting the recipient for this award.

QUAKERTOWN BASEBALL BOOSTER CLUB AWARDAn award will be given to the senior baseball player(s) who achieved the highest cumulative GPA in the graduating class.

QUAKERTOWN BUSINESS & PROFESSIONAL WOMEN’S CLUB SCHOLARSHIPThe Quakertown Business and Professional Women’s Club will give two $1,500 scholarship awards to deserving seniors who have been accepted in a college or university (institution of higher learning) for furthering their education in a business or professional career. Academic achievement and participation in school and community activities are considered in the selection process. The Career Advancement Committee of BPW reviews the students’ resumes, interviews the applicants, and selects the recipients.

QUAKERTOWN COMMUNITY EDUCATION ASSOCIATION AWARDThe teachers of the Quakertown Community Education Association will award two $1,000 scholarships to outstanding seniors who will major in the field of education.

QUAKERTOWN COMMUNITY SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT AWARDAn award of $300 is given to a graduating senior who has maintained a good academic average, has displayed a genuine interest in school, and desires to pursue further education.

QUAKERTOWN DENTAL OFFICE MATHEMATICS SCHOLARSHIP AWARDDr. Michael Bonomo of Quakertown Dental will award $250 annually to two outstanding students achieving high averages in multiple, rigorous math courses throughout their high school career.

QUAKERTOWN ELEMENTARY PRIDE AWARDThe staff at Quakertown Elementary is very proud to give a graduating senior a $1000 award based on, but not limited to, the following criteria. The recipient must have attended Quakertown Elementary for at least 4 years. The recipient must have been in good standing during his/her high school years (grades, behavior, etc...). The recipient must be attending a post high school institution-this may be a university, college, trade school, or community college. The recipient must write an essay that captures one of the components of PRIDE- Perseverance, Respect, In-Control, Dependability, or Effort. The essay should reflect how he or she demonstrated that component in his or her life. The committee at Quakertown Elementary will read the essays to choose the recipient.

QUAKERTOWN FIELD HOCKEY BOOSTER CLUB SENIOR SCHOLARSHIP AWARDA $250 award will be given to a senior who has played field hockey for Quakertown High School for 4 years, has achieved academic excellence, and is continuing their education after high school.

QUAKERTOWN HIGH SCHOOL ALUMNI ASSOCIATIONThe Quakertown High School Alumni Association will give $1,000 awards, to a college-bound senior(s) and to senior(s) entering the workforce or attending a trade school. Students must submit an application for the scholarship. Applicants must submit answers to three questions; have a classmate write a letter of recommendation, and interview with the scholarship committee. The award may be shared between equally matched candidates at the discretion of the scholarship committee.

QUAKERTOWN LIONS CLUB JOHN EDGE MEMORIAL AWARDAn award of $300 will be presented to a graduating senior who is pursuing some form of higher education and has demonstrated outstanding academic achievement. Preference will be given to a student who has not received another award.

QUAKERTOWN LIONS CLUB VOCATIONAL & TECHNICAL AWARDSAn award of $300 will be given annually by the Quakertown Lions Club to a student for their outstanding work in the vocational/technical curriculum.

QUAKERTOWN MIDGET FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION AWARDThe Quakertown Midget Football Association will award $250 to a cheerleader and/or football player who has been a participant of QMFA when they were younger and has volunteered with the association for at least one season. The recipient must be in good standing academically. The award may be shared between two equally matched candidates at the discretion of the association.

QUAKERTOWN MUSIC PROMOTERS ORGANIZATION MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIPThis scholarship was established by QMPO to honor the memories of friends and loved ones of Quakertown School District students, faculty, and community members. A scholarship in the amount of $500 will be awarded to a student in band or chorus who is majoring in music or music education. The recipient will be chosen by the music faculty of the senior high school.

QUAKERTOWN POLICE OFFICERS’ ASSOCIATION AWARDA $200 award will be presented to a graduating senior who desires to attend a college or university of their choice in the field of law enforcement or social services. The student must also be of good character and standing with the school and the community with a minimum G.P.A. of 2.75.

QUAKERTOWN ROTARY CLUB SERVICE AWARDThe Quakertown Rotary Club gives a monetary award to senior students for outstanding service to the school and the community.

QUAKERTOWN SWIMMING BOOSTER CLUB SENIOR AWARDA $250 award is given to a senior who has swam for Quakertown High School for four years, has achieved the highest GPA and has enrolled in a post-secondary educational program.

This award is given by the Quakertown High School Wrestling Booster Club.

RICHARD P. KLINE MEMORIAL AWARDA $50 award is given each year to a senior student who has demonstrated a consistently positive outlook on life, a love for sports, and a desire to persevere in any situation. The student is selected by the senior high school faculty as a person who reflects the character of Richard P. Kline and has had the same positive influence on the Quakertown population. The award was instituted by the QCSHS Class of 1994. It is supported by donations in Richard P. Kline’s memory.

RICHLAND AREA SOFTBALL ASSOCIATIONA $500 award will be given to one Quakertown High School senior who has participated in RASA Softball for four years and then participated in the high school softball program for four years. The recipient must have displayed commitment, enthusiasm, and good sportsmanship. The recipient must also plan on furthering her education after high school. The Quakertown High School softball coaches will determine the recipient.

RICHLANDTOWN LIONS CLUB COMMUNITY SERVICE AWARD SPONSORED BY QUAKERTOWN LIONS CLUBThe Quakertown Lions Club carries on the tradition of the Richlandtown Lions Club to GIVE A $300 award a student residing in the Borough of Richlandtown or the Township of Richland who has displayed outstanding participation in community service projects during their high school years.

RICHLANDTOWN PLAYGROUND ASSOCIATION AWARDA $50 award will be presented annually to a member of the senior class who has contributed as a volunteer or manager of a school or community sport or activity and has given unselfishly of time and effort to support the sport or activity.

ROSELON AWARDRoselon industries presents $750 each to two senior students who have a demonstrated interest in the Business field. The students who are selected intend to major in the field of Business in college, and have achieved at a high level in business related coursework during their high school years.

SARAH PARVIN MEMORIAL AWARDA $500 award will be given by the Herrlinger Financial Group to a graduating senior in memory of Sarah Parvin. The recipient of this award displays leadership, compassion, strength, and a true love of life and participates in multiple extra-curricular activities.

SCHOLAR ATHLETE AWARDThis award is given to a male and a female senior athlete who has participated in two or more sports over their high school career and has demonstrated academic abilities and ranks in the upper portion of their class.

SHAWN DUFFY MEMORIALThis $250 award is given to a college bound senior on the boy’s high school soccer team who has excelled in academics, commitment, sportsmanship, leadership, athletics, and character, on and off the playing field.

STUDENT CONGRESS AWARDStudent Congress awards a scholarship in the amount of $100 to a deserving senior. THE ST. LUKE’S QUAKERTOWN CAMPUS ALBERT J. TAYLOR MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIPThe St. Luke’s Quakertown Campus Albert J. Taylor Memorial Scholarship of $500 is given by St. Luke’s Quakertown Hospital Auxiliary to a student in the top 25% of the graduating class & enrolled as a full time student in an accredited four year college or university in the field of Health Care or Science. Preference will be given to the student who has volunteered at the hospital.

THE ST. LUKE’S QUAKERTOWN CAMPUS MEDICAL STAFF ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIPThe St. Luke’s Quakertown Campus Medical Staff Academic Scholarship of $500 is given by St. Luke’s Quakertown Hospital Auxiliary to a student in the top 25% of the graduating class & enrolled as a full time student in an accredited four year college or university in the field of Health Care or Science. Preference will be given to the student who has volunteered at the hospital.

THEATRICAL ARTS CLUB AWARDThis award is given to seniors who are planning to pursue theatrical arts at the college/professional level. To qualify a student must have participated in theatrical arts for Quakertown Community High School, shown leadership, responsibility, character, and have a positive impact on the student body.

TRUMBAUERSVILLE LION’S CLUB SOCIAL STUDIES AWARD.The Trumbauersville Lions Club awards a $250 savings bond to an outstanding social studies student in the senior class. The student shall be selected for scholarship, achievement, and dedication in the social studies field.

UBCTS OUTSTANDING SENIOR VOCATIONAL TECHNICAL AWARDA $100 award will be given to a student(s) attending the Upper Bucks Technical School who displays a positive attitude, possesses leadership skills in working with other students and the faculty, and demonstrates a willingness to learn new techniques and procedures. The recipient(s) must also be conscientious and reliable.

UPPER BUCKS SERTOMA CLUB AWARD IN MEMORY OF MARY E. FLACK$500 will be awarded to a deserving senior who plans a career in speech or hearing or a field related to the “special needs” of children.

VOCAL MUSIC AWARDA certificate and a $100 award is presented by the vocal music department to seniors who are outstanding students of vocal music. Achievement and service to the school and community determine the recipient of this award.

VOLLEYBALL LEGACY AWARDThis $100 award is given to a Senior Volleyball player for his/her contributions toward promoting the program and the sport of volleyball to younger students.

WARREN S. BUCK HONORARY CHEMISTRY AWARD$50 will be given to a senior student who is most outstanding in the science of Chemistry by the Kiwanis Club of Quakertown in recognition of Warren Buck’s many years of service to the organization. The Kiwanis Club offers this award to promote interest in the development of citizens who are well informed as to modern advances in the field of chemistry, participation, and in developing chemicals for the coming generation.

WHITE OAK COUNSELING CENTER HUMAN SERVICES AWARDA scholarship of $500 is presented to a graduating senior at Quakertown Community Senior High School who is entering a field of human services including, but not limited to, psychology or social work. The student should have a grade point average of 3.0 or better, and demonstrates integrity.

WOMAN’S CLUB OF QUAKERTOWN AWARDThe Woman’s Club of Quakertown will give $1000 to a college bound senior student who has rendered outstanding service to the school during their high school years and preferably has received no other award. The money will be sent directly to the college the student will attend.

YOUNG COMMUNITY ACTIVIST AWARDThe Quakertown Farmer’s Market will give $500 awards to college bound seniors in the following categories: High School Orchestra/Band/Choir, concentration in the arts, Athletics, Visual Arts/Sciences (TV) who have also met or exceeded a 3.0 GPA, who exemplify respect, responsibility, character, sacrifice, and have participated and contributed to the community – volunteering and/or performed services that had a positive impact on the Quakertown High School and Community.

YVONNE J. NOVAK MEMORIALThe recipient of this $500 award is a graduating senior accepted into a four-year college program for the study of elementary education. The student should: 1. Have a cumulative grade point average of 2.9 or higher. 2. Be passionate about self-learning and helping others to learn. 3. Be a leader and role model in demonstration of ethical behavior and respect of others. 4. Preference will be given to a student who has demonstrated via classroom participation (e.g. internship) and/or community service activities (e.g. camp counseling, Sunday school teaching, tutoring, sporting program coach, etc.) a sincere commitment to working with young children to build their self-esteem and to help them to achieve their highest potential.
