Dear Students, We have endeavoured hard to put before you a special “Humor and Satire” edition of Kisht-e-Nau. It must be pointed put at the outset that if you are merely looking for the rip-snorting oddities, belly-laughs, bizarre pen-slips or fuzzy bloopers be reported here, you may very well be utterly disappointed. While this edition does provide a fair bit of humour, the intended task has been to focus equally on sarcasm, both overt and covert for obvious reasons that Kisht-e-Nau is a reputed magazine with predominantly academic and educational agenda for societal betterment. I also think it is necessary to admit that humor is very easily done and understood in everyday life, but creating it, specifically in writing requires a certain level of wit and inventiveness, so we must appreciate what students have produced for us. The task is doubly more difficult when imparting wisdom, not evoking laughter simply, is the objective. Truly, humour is the spice of life and those students who have learnt to use it for the corrective purpose of bringing positive change in the society, now know what endless opportunities their words and pens offer to reconcile hearts and to put messages across to others. I used to consider it a formality in respect of magazine editorials that organizers and editors complain of the student' lack of interest in literary activities. But now, I can say on authority of personal experience that it “really hurts” the teachers who really wish to teach their students whatever they have learnt in life, especially when a generous administration provides all possible resources to uplift the morale and caliber of the students, so please get your submissions ready for the next edition of Kisht-e-Nau at the earliest.
