Feudalism- Socio-political system based on the exchange of land for services

Lord- Landowner (bigtime or smalltime)

Vassal- Someone who is given land by a Lord in exchange for military protection

Fief- The land given by a Lord to his Vassal

Knight- Lower-level Vassal and armored mounted warrior loyal to his Lord

Chivalry- Code of conduct taught to knights (bravery, loyalty, honesty, etc) to try to prevent them from excessive violence
