Shooting Match Update
The Shooting Match Committee
has made the decision to cancel
all activities and events for the
Shooting Match for the safety of
our parishioners and the commu-
nity; although, the Big Raffle will
still be held on September 27.
The raffle tickets will be distribut-
ed to the parishioners in the near
future. Since the raffle will be the
only fundraiser for St. Mark we
are hoping for it to be a big suc-
cess.

ney Kellems; Leo Lawalin, son of Joshua and Sara Lawalin; Ada
Mundy, daughter of John and Deirdre Mundy; Findley Smith, son

GLORIA Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to people of good will.
We praise you, we bless you, we adore you, we glorify you, we give you thanks for your great glory, Lord God, heavenly King, O God, almighty Father.
Lord Jesus Christ, Only Bego en Son, Lord God, Lamb of God, Son of the Father, you take away the sins of the world, have mercy on us; you take away the sins of the world, receive our prayer; you are seated at the right hand of the Father, have mercy on us.
For you alone are the Holy One, you alone are the Lord, you alone are the Most High, Jesus Christ, With the Holy Spirit, in the glory of God the Father.
Amen.
FIRST READING 1 Kings 3:5, 7-12
The Lord appeared to Solomon in a dream at night. God said, “Ask something of me and I will give it to you.” Solomon answered: “O Lord, my God, you have made me, your servant, king to succeed my father David; but I am a mere youth, not knowing at all how to act. I serve you in the midst of the people whom you have chosen, a people so vast that it cannot be numbered or counted. Give your servant, therefore, an understanding heart to
judge your people and to dis nguish right from wrong. For who is able to govern this vast peo-ple of yours?”
The Lord was pleased that Solomon made this request. So God said to him: “Because you have asked for this—not for a long life for yourself, nor for riches, nor for the life of your enemies, but for understanding so that you may know what is right—I do as you requested. I give you a heart so wise and understanding that there has never been anyone like you up to now, and a er you there will come no one to equal you.”
The word of the Lord. Res: Thanks be to God. PSALM RESPONSE: Lord, I love your commands. SECOND READING: Romans 8:28-30 Brother and sisters: We know that all things work for good for those who love God, who are called according to his purpose. For those he foreknew he also predes ned to be conformed to the image of his Son, so that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. And those he predes-
ned he also called; and those he called he also jus fied; and those he jus fied he also glorified. The word of the Lord. Res: Thanks be to God.
GOSPEL: Ma hew 13:44-52
The Lord be with you. Res: And with your Spirit. A reading from the Gospel according to Ma hew. Res: Glory to You, O Lord.
J esus said to his disciples: “The kingdom of heav-en is like a treasure buried in a field, which a
person finds and hides again, and out of joy goes and sells all that he has and buys that field. Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant searching for fine pearls. When he finds a pearl of great price, he goes and sells all that he has and buys it. Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a net thrown into the sea, which collects fish of every kind. When it is full they haul it ashore and sit down to put what is good into buckets. What is bad they throw away. Thus it will be at the end of the age. The angels
will go out and separate the wicked from the righteous and throw them into the fiery furnace, where there will be wailing and grinding of teeth.
“Do you understand all these things?” They an-swered, “Yes.” And he replied, “Then every scribe who has been instructed in the kingdom of heaven is like the head of a household who brings from his storeroom both the new and the old.”
The gospel of the Lord. Res: Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ. NICENE CREED
I believe in one God, the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth,
of all things visible and invisible.
I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Only Bego en Son of God, born of the Father before all ages. God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, bego en, not made, consubstan al with the Father; through him all things were made. For us men and for our salva on he came down from heaven, At the words that follow, up to and including “and became man,” all bow. and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary, and became man.
For our sake he was crucified under Pon us Pilate, he suffered death and was buried, and rose again on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead and his kingdom will have no end. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of Life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets.
I believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church. I confess one Bap sm for the forgiveness of sins and I look forward to the resurrec on of the dead and the life of the world to come.
Amen.
ACT OF SPIRITUAL COMMUNION
My Jesus, I believe that you are present in the Most Holy Sacrament. I love you above all things, and I desire to receive you into my soul. Since I cannot at this moment receive you sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace you as if you were already there and unite myself wholly to you. Never permit me to be separated from you.
Amen.
