Welcome to ISMNT7 and IWHTE

The Seventh International Symposium on Micro and Nanotechnology will be

held in Qingdao, China, from April 26th

to 28th

in 2019.

Nanotechnology, information technology and biotechnology, which bring the

potential of lasting technological innovation and the fundamental changes in social

infrastructure and lifestyle, constitute the most innovative technology areas.

Micro/nano thermal engineering is one of the most important research aspects of the

above emerging technologies. The International Symposium on Micro and Nano

Technology (ISMNT) started from 2004 are a series of meetings sponsored by the

Pacific Center of Thermal-Fluids Engineering (PCTFE). The previous six ISMNTs

were held in: 2004 in Honolulu (USA), 2006 in Hsinchu (CTW), 2009 in Seoul (RoK),

2013 in Shanghai (China), 2015 in Calgary (Canada) and 2017 in Fukuoka (Japan).

This symposium will bring together international researchers and engineers

focusing on micro and nanoscale technology in energy conversion and transport in a

variety of applications. It will provide a forum for the presentation of state-of-the-art

researches and opportunities for technical interactions among participants. Together

with information technology and biotechnology, micro/nanoscale technology forms

one of the three axes of innovative technologies. These technologies are important

because they have the potential to bring about a discontinuous innovation in

technology which results in fundamental changes in our social infrastructure and life

pattern.

We look forward to a productively and intellectually rewarding ISMNT7 and

IWHTE, and wish that you will leave Qingdao with new insights, ideas and friends,

and that you will return soon to Qingdao, one of the most extraordinary and beautiful

cities in the world.

GENERAL INFORMATION

Registration desk

The registration desk is located in the Lobby on the 1st floor of Huanghai Hotel,

Qingdao. The registration desk will be open according to the following schedule:

Friday, 26 April, 9:00-22:00

Saturday, 27 April, 8:00-16:00

Sunday, 28 April, 8:30-11:00

Name badges

Please use your name badge at all times, including technical sessions and social

events.

Oral presentations

The time allocated for the presentations is 40 minutes for the plenary talk and 30

minutes for Keynote and 15 minutes for contributed oral presentation, including the

time for discussion. Speakers should bring their presentations on a USB flash drive in

Microsoft Powerpoint (2016 or earlier versions). The presentations may be delivered

to the local staff and copied to the laptop of the room allocated to the presentation

well ahead of the scheduled session. Speakers may also connect their laptops directly

to the projectors, but we cannot guarantee compatibility.

Poster presentations

The poster is compact with 1.2(height) m*0.8(width) m. All poster presentations will

be in the conference centre on the 2nd floor. Posters can be put on the poster boards

on the scheduled day no later than 14:00 p.m.

Internet access

Huanghai Hotel has wireless internet service. Conference delegates will get ID and

password during registration to access the internet via their computers.

Coffee breaks

Coffee breaks will be provided every morning and afternoon during breaks between

technical sessions.

Lunches

Buffet Lunch will be provided every day at the Zhonghua Hall on the 2nd floor of

Huanghai Hotel.
