The purpose of the opening credits of the QI opening credits is to attempt to entice people in to watching the show. It also shows some of the people who have helped o make the show.

During the opening credits of the show QI it has several different words numbers ad symbols at the beginning of the opening credits. They have done this because it is a comedy panel show that revolves around knowledge by having words and numbers with a magnifying glass on them shows to the viewers that this is a show that is going to have some sort of knowledge involved in it. It also haves pictures from parts of history modern day life and geography these should show the viewers that the show is not just about English and maths but contains facts about more or less anything .The music in the opening credits are happy chimes music which shows that this is not a largely serious show .

Techniques used:Animation, visual effects, colour, audio, graphics, movement.Blur, sharpen, distortion, rotation, opacity.

The animation is fast paced with images flying out at the screen. The colour effect is mainly blue and white but the images showed in the opening credits are very colourful. The images get distorted and blurred when they leave the screen.

The open credits uses a good clear frae rate to make the opening credits run smoothly and not look choppy this make the images come on clearly and grip people into watching the show.
