Zariq Siddiqui is the Pediatric District Sales Manager for Abbott Laboratories Incorporated, a global health care company. This recent interview helps illuminate his life outside of work.

INTERVIEWER: Mr. Siddiqui, you've been with Abbott Laboratories for a long time now, but you haven't always lived in the same place, or even the same country. Tell us a little about the other places you've lived.

ZS: Well, I was born in Pakistan, even though my siblings were born in England. My father served in the British Merchant Marine, and we just happened to be in Pakistan at the right time. When I was older, we moved to Canada. My father worked on an ice breaker, The Hudson, that went on research missions in the Arctic.

INT: Sounds exciting. What else do you remember about life in Canada?

ZS: I grew up in Nova Scotia. In fifth grade, I moved from Dartmouth to Halifax, where I lived until I graduated high school. We had a camper we used for vacations at Sherwood Forest, near the town of Antigonish. 

INT: Been to any other countries?

ZS: I've been to Bangladesh, Sweden, Greece, South Africa, and England.

INT: But you settled in America.

ZS: Yes. I went to college here and I like it. American food is my favorite cuisine. I'm a Notre Dame football fan, and my favorite NFL team is the Bills. Besides, I have a family of my own now. My wife and I are raising three children between the ages of 7 and 14. My life is here.
