Who was Pythagorus?
Around 500BC, Pythagoras was a prominent Greek mathematician and philosopher. He was known as the ‘father of numbers’ and is still famous today for his proven theory, which is named Pythagoras’ theory.
Pythagoras’ Secret Society
Pythagoras founded an influential movement or cult, known as a secret society or brotherhood called Pythagoreanism. The people in his ‘secret society’ devoted themselves to the studies of mathematics.
What is the Pythagoras theory?
The Pythagoras theorem is the theory that the square of the hypotenuse (longest side of the triangle) is equal to the sum of the squares of the two other sides.
How to use the theory
so the theory is that c2 = a2 + b2
In this case, the sum would be 52 = 42 + 32
Calculating this into 16 + 9 = 25Meaning… the theory works.
