Pyramid of the Sun

Bosnian Pyramid of the Sun (former Visocica), with itsheight of over 220 meters, is one third taller than the Greatpyramid of Egypt. Four sides of the pyramid are perfectlyaligned with the cardinal points (North-South, East-West).Measurements made by the Geodetic Institute of Bosniaand Herzegovina suggest that northern portion of the

pyramid is forming geometric feature of triangle, with equalsides of 365 meters and inner angles of 60 degrees. Northside of the pyramid is oriented towards stellar north (likethe Great Pyramid of Egypt), in parallel with position of theNorth Star.

Numerous scientific analysis suggest artificiality of themonument: satellite imagery, thermal inertia analysis thatshows quick heat loss due toinner chambers and hallways;penetrating radar suggests straight passageways with 90degrees intersections; water drainage and inner angles of45 degrees characteristic for artificial objects.Geo-archaeological research uncovered man-made stoneblocks that the pyramid walls.

Pyramid of the Moon

Former Pljesevica hill represents typical step-pyramidnamed the Bosnian Pramid of the Moon. Initial digginguncovered the foundation, terraces, plateau on the top ofthe pyramid, vertical wall and rectangular structure underone meter thick layer of soil. Four sides of the pyramidalign with the cardinal sides (North-South, East-West).Thermal inertia analysis shows much quicker heat-lossthan surrounding natural hills. Sandstone plates andblocks are exclusive building material used by the pyramidbuilders. During last 100 years locals have used thoseplates as a "quarry".

Pyramid of the Dragon

Satellite images, thermal analysis and radar studiesperformed at the site, all independently confirming theexistence of pyramid shaped architecture. So far, noexcavations have been carried out at the pyramid, butpreliminary geologic investigation confirmed thepresence of man-made stone blocks lying beneath soilsurface.

Network of Underground Tunnels

Initial research and local legends suggest that the wholenet of underground tunnels exist under the BosnianPyramid Valley. Working hypothesis is that these tunnelsconnect all pyramids and other sites of importance.Researched area of one of the tunnel sections showintersections at 90 degrees, man-made ceilings andchambers and ventilation shafts.

Several man-made sandstone monoliths have been foundwith symbols that might represent first European writings.

Stone Spheres

One of the greatest mysteries for archaeologists and otherscientific researchers today represents the phenomenon ofstone spheres. First stone spheres were found in the early1930's in the delta of river Diquis in Costa Rica. Since thenwere found hundreds of stone spheres of many differentsizes in different locations of the world. Many of them arebuilt from the mineral called grandiorite that is very firm.Bosnian stone spheres phenomenon was actualized in2004 when Mr. Semir Osmanagic and his team ofindependent researchers and historians found few stonespheres in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

First Bosnian stone spheres were found near Banja Luka.There has been found either the biggest stone sphere inBosnia and Herzegovina whose construction was probably

interrupted in one of its phases, so that the stone sphereseems not finished, which means that rough and by itsoutfit it is distinguished from unwritten rule that says thatall stone spheres were glazed at the end of theirconstruction.

Going further more locations with stone spheres have beendiscovered. In the place of Teocak were found 8 stonespheres that were built from granite, while in the settlementPonikve near the town Vares was discovered an irregularshaped stone sphere that was probably formed bymagmatic rocks. The stone sphere of Ponikve weighsabout 4 tons. In the village of Zlokuce, near town Kakanj,there are few stone spheres that have the same mineralcomposition and also few elongated stone megaliths forwhich people during thepast attributed magical healingpowers. A small stone sphere is kept in the library ofFranciskan Monastery in Kraljeva Sutjeska near Kakanj.Stone spheres were also found in two locations ofneighboring Maglaj - in the village of Jablanica and on thehill Cikota.

In the settlement Grab near Zavidovici has been discoveredanother location with the greatest number of stone spheresever found in Bosnia and Herzegovina. On that locationwere found tens of stone spheres that were moved by

clueless villagers to other locations. Today, there are about15 unharmed stone spheres and either about 20half-spheres. Their diameters vary between 50 cm and 2 m.The origin of these stone spheres is not known till thesedays, but there are few stories that people retell.

Legends concerning the formation of stone spheres inZavidovici

The most interesting legend concerned to the stonespheres is certainly the one that narrates about aninundation occurred in 1936. The legend says that the daywas dark as night, and it was pouring with rain so muchthat the brooks and rivers left their beds and theinundation brought stone spheres to the place where theywere discovered many years later by researchers SemirOsmanagic, Jovo Jovanovic and Ahmed Bosnic listeningto stories and legends of local inhabitants.

The other legend about the origins of stone spheres

narrates the crash of wedding guests. Villagers say that theplace where the stones spheres are found was the placewhere wedding guests crushed each other, stonedthemselves, and became stone spheres. The legend, asstrange and unbelievable it may sound, may be a storyfilled with metaphor in order to describe the creation of thestone spheres.
