FINDINGS• Nearshore systemsarepumpratelimitedandcanbeimprovedbyincreasingskimmercapacity.
• Secondarystoragewillrequiremoreoffloadstationsifweirskimmersareused,comparedtodiscskimmers.
• Theoptimalconfigurationforweirskimmingsystemsis18offloadstations,20skimmingsystemsand60mini-barges.
• Theoptimalconfigurationfordiscskimmingsystemsis10offloadstations,26skimmingsystemsand42mini-barges.
FINDINGS• Totaloilrecoverdeclinesbyabout2%pernmfromthesecondarystoragebarge.
• Largeoperatingareasrequiremoremini-bargestooperateefficiently.
• Decantingmini-bargesisnotefficient.
