4 Setup

4.1 Hardware Setup and Cabling• Attach the Power Supply to the RBS 6000.• Connect the DUW serial and Ethernet cable to the Computer

4.2 Configuration of the Test Computer• Determine the COM-Port for the serial Connection .• Start the Hyperterminal at determined COM-Port and settings 9600-N-8-1.• Use „rbs“ as user and password.• Type ifconfig and check the IP address.• Add one to the IP-Address and set this Address at the Computer’s LAN interface.• Switch all Firewalls off.

5 Test Procedure5.1 Visual InspectionEnsure the visual cleanliness and the mechanical integrity before the test.

5.2 DUW Functional Test• DUW Power Supply Test:

o Install the DUW in the RBS and switch the Power Supply on.o Wait 10 to 15 minutes until LEDs stopped blinking.o Check the following LEDs:

� Fault und Maintenance LEDs : OFF� Operational LED: ON

• Element Manager Test:

o Start the RBS Element Manager at the Computero Choose address and click “Connect”. o Picture 3 should be visible.

• Alarm und Indication Test

o Choose Alarm � Alarm List from the menue.o Check the no failures regarding the DUW appears.

• Hyperterminal Test

o Start Hyperterminalo Use “rbs” as user and password for the login.o Check the IP Address using the command ifconfig.

o Notice: If the station doesn’t accept the login data reboot it before continuing with thenext steps.

5.3 Formatting the DUW• Start Hyperterminal and log in.• Check with the help of ifconfig the IP Address.

• Type reload - -

• Type formathd /d DO NOT type format !

• Type y for yes

• Type formathd /c2• If /c2 is not available type: mount_c2• Type y for yes

• Start Total Commander FTP client .• Connect to the RBS.

• Upload the RBS Basic SW (c2 /d) to the RBS.

• If the Upload finishes successfully close the FTP client.

• Type reload to reset the RBS.

• Wait for the Message “Login Server Ready”.

5.4 END Test

• Ethernet Connection Test:

o Start the RBS Element Manager and connect to the RBS.

• Serial Connection Test:

o Start Hyperterminal.o Use “rbs” as user and password for the login.o Check that DUW file systems c and d are available � command: vols

• E1 Interface & Synchronization Test:

o Start the Racal 6413A.o Choose “Launch 6413A”. o Press “Functional Tests”. o Choose “Configure IUB Interface”. o Set the following parameters:

• Connect the IuB-Interface from DUW „ET-A“ to the UMTS Racal 6413A.• Choose „Reset Iub Interface“ three times then press „RUN Test“.• Test is PASSED if Cell 1 appears.

5.5 A to F - Digital RU Interface TestAll six interface ports A to F have to be tested.

• During the software update the configuration for 6 sectors, 6 cells, and RBB12A with Ext2was installed. All six sectors should be activated.

• Connect the CPRI cables from DUW to the radio units.

• Test is PASSED if:o The Ethernet electrical RU LEDs are shining green ando In menue RBS Element Manager � Equipment the Radio Units (RUW oder RUS)

are enabled and present.
