Gourmet Desserts- Nancie Gordon

Banana Banana Layer Cake

This is delicious two-layer cake for those who love bananas. The ingredients I use for the cake include

Cabot butter and sour cream, cage free eggs, bananas and vanilla. There are banana slices layered

between the two cake layers, along with homemade butter cream frosting. The cake is frosted with the

same butter cream. Banana Banana Layer Cake can serve up to 16.

Value: $45 Starting bid: $30

Nancie’s Blueberry Almond Bars

I make these bars every Fourth of July for our picnic at Tanglewood. They travel nicely and the tastes

play so nicely together. We never return with any! When you bite into one of these jewels, you will

discover an almond shortbread crust topped with goodness. I use Ghiradelli white chocolate, Cabot

butter, cage-free eggs, quality blueberry jam, and toasted almonds as some of my ingredients in these

bars. If you love white chocolate and a kiss of blueberries, you’ll enjoy these pretty, delicious bars. 16

bars

Value: $32 Starting bid: $20

Chocolate Fudge Raspberry Layer Cake

One of my girlfriends called this “a slice of ecstasy.” And even though I love her and am thrilled that she

felt this way, I decided not to officially use that name for this cake. But I can’t tell you that I don’t think

of that every time I make it! If you are NOT a Chocolate Lover, this is not for you! But if you are. . . . . . . .

This is a three layer chocolate cake that has a whole lot of Ghiradelli chocolate chips and raspberry

preserves added to the chocolate batter. All three layers and the top are frosted with homemade

chocolate raspberry buttercream frosting. Just gotta say, this is an amazing cake for very special

occasions. Think: special birthday, dinner party, bridal or baby shower. Servings: 12-16 (super rich!)

Value: $50 Starting bid: $35

Nancie’s Gluten Free Chocolate Torte

Calling All Chocolate Lovers!

This is one of my favorite one-layer cakes. This delectable concoction includes Ghiradelli chocolate,

Cabot butter, cage free eggs, and pure vanilla extract. Melt- in -your -mouth fudgy. Silky—Addictive—

Decadent. Even though it is a single layer, its richness allows for at least 8 generous servings. Its top is

dusted with cocoa and powdered sugar for a lovely presentation. It is completely gluten free, but you

won’t miss a thing. You won’t be sorry!

Value: $35 Starting bid: $20

New York Style Crumb Cake

Are you hosting a family breakfast or brunch? Having a group over dessert?

Have a yen for some streusel topped crumb cake? Let me offer this easy, delicious solution!

This is a tried and true tender sour cream coffee cake that is topped with a thick layer of cinnamon-

scented streusel. I use Cabot butter (1 pound) and sour cream, quality vanilla and cage free eggs to

create this New York style Crumb Cake. I have made many crumb cakes and coffee cakes, and this is THE

BEST. It is my keeper recipe! This serves 12-15 generously. However, individual slices of it also freeze

beautifully for you to rediscover in the weeks ahead. You will love this coffee cake/crumb cake, I

guarantee.

Value: $35 Starting bid: $20

Nancie’s Damn Good Bars

(and I’m not lying!)

We’ve never met anyone who didn’t like these special dessert bars. They got their name from a friend of

Bob’s who, after his first bite, pronounced them. . . .damn good. Ingredients include Cabot butter,

toasted walnuts or pecans, three different kinds of chocolate chips, toasted coconut, cage free eggs and

Cabot cream cheese. They are dense, delectable and deserving of a special company dessert, a holiday

or a party. (or your own family that you love to spoil) 20 nice sized bars (definitely could be cut in half)

Fish Dinner

Freshest Seafood Dinner You’ve Ever Had! Friday, May 13th - 7 winners Hand-Caught - Out O’Gloucester ! Donated by Mark Beal and Sarah Dengler Dinner served on 5/13/2016 at our house, 83 Sunridge Road in Rindge Mark will be venturing out into the wilds of the North Atlantic Ocean to personally bring back the best fish of the spring season. The fishing trip is the day before the dinner, and the catch will be iced and ready to serve at the peak of freshness. The highlight of the meal will be the just-caught fish (such as haddock) in a simple and traditional preparation, but we’ll also

include a few other fruits of the sea, freshly transported from the docks of Gloucester that morning. Loaves of bread from the famous Virgilio’s bakery and one of Sarah’s desserts will round out the meal. We’ll uncork a couple of deserving Chardonnays, and the final menu will accommodate any dietary restrictions. *** The success of any fishing trip depends on greater forces such as storms, uncooperative fish, or worse. But the dinner will happen regardless, and Mark will get dayboat-fresh fish at the docks of Gloucester on the morning of the dinner, if necessary. But he doesn’t usually get skunked… Contact Info: (603) 899-6870 [email protected] [email protected]
