Dear Prospective Making it Happen Supporters:

Please join us for PURE’s MAKING IT HAPPEN FOR MANHATTAN, June 25, 2011! This night of folly and great performing is to benefit PURE’s The Made in Manhattan Project, a semester long course that teaches local Lowcountry high school students how to become young playwrights. The Made in Manhattan Project is a program that not only teaches students how to express themselves in a positive way, but they learn skills that they can utilize in the future.

Here is what you can anticipate for the night of June 25th. The night will start at 5:30pm on the Roof of 39 Rue de Jean for cocktails and light appetizers. The show will take place around 7:00pm at Charleston Ballet Theatre, located at 477 King Street in Downtown Charleston. The performance will be a world premiere play written by PURE’s own co-founder Rodney Lee Rogers. Mr. Roger’s new work is entitled “A Journey to Center.” It is the story of a new priest, in a small Southern town, who is torn as to if he should come forward with the confession of child sexual-abuse in the 1940’s. Tickets to the event are $200 for General Seating and $250 for Premium Seating.

PURE’s mission, since its formation in 2003, has always been about pushing the envelope on the public’s idea of theatre. As part of that mission, PURE fosters new writers, plays, and actors. PURE is now asking you to be a part of that mission by purchasing tickets, sponsoring, and/or donating.

Charleston natives that wish to help further the education possibilities for local students will also be in attendance.

Designer

Ryan Payne of Hold On Printing and Graphics is the official graphic designer for PURE Theatre. He will be in charge of the design and layout of all event materials such as the playbill, posters, mailers, and much more. Mr. Payne is also the web designer for puretheatre.org, PURE’s official website.
