24/7 Study AccessBeginning August 21, 2017, Purdue faculty, staff , and students (with a valid Purdue ID) will be able to gain entry into the Wilmeth Active Learning Center (WALC) 24 hours a day, 7 days week most of the year, via swiping their Purdue IDs. As of August 20, 2017, the Hicks Undergraduate Library (HIKS) will no longer provide 24/7 access to users. For hours of the individual Purdue Libraries, please see www.lib.purdue.edu/hoursList.
Computers
Group Study RoomsTo see a list and make reservations for group study rooms, go to http://calendar.lib.purdue.edu. Generally, rooms may be reserved for two hours at a time, not less than 2 hours before the reservation.
PrintingPrint release stations are available in all Purdue Libraries. Color printing is available in the Veterinary Medicine Library (LYNN 1133D), HSSE Library (STEW 153), Hicks Undergraduate Library (HIKS G950) and the WALC.Poster printers are available in the Undergraduate Library (HIKS) and in the Wilmeth Active Learning Center (WALC), second floor.In the WALC, Purdue University Libraries off ers free 3-D printing on four Lulzbot TAZ6s, for items less than 75 grams. Borrowing Electronic EquipmentHIKS undergraduate library circulates video cameras, digital cameras, tripods, and hard drives from the ITaP Help Desk. LOES circulates specialty cameras (GoPro, Theta 360°), microcontrollers, Raspberry Pis, and 3-D scanners.

The Purdue University Library system includes more than 3.8 million printed volumes and electronic books, close to 165,000 electronic and print journals, more than 377,000 government document, and over 86,000 microforms.BooksNewly acquired books are shelved using the Library of Congress (LC) call number system, which begins with a letter. Most other books use the Dewey Decimal System, which begin with a number. Please ask staff at the information desk in any library for help locating books.If you have questions about your library account, contact Circulation Services at 765-494-0369 or via email at [email protected] libraries shelve their journals alphabetically by title except HSSE & MATH, which are shelved by call number.Course ReservesSome instructors place textbooks or other course materials on reserve in the Libraries. Use the Course Reserve tab on the Libraries’ homepage (lib.purdue.edu) to search by instructor or course number. To ensure others have access to the materials, typically, reserve materials can be borrowed for two hours at a time.ThesesPurdue theses and dissertations (see http://guides.lib.purdue.edu/dissertations) published since 1997 are available from ProQuest’s Dissertations and Theses database. Theses and dissertations prior to 1997 can be requested through the Libraries catalog.
