    SELECTION OF PERSONNEL

    Primarily Defensive Players: Tackling

    becomes an issue. DEPENDABILITY!!

    Center: Best Long Snapper Period!!!!! Guards / Tackles: LBs & DEs

    Wings: LBs & DBs

    Gunners: DBs Cover Corners Speed

    PP: Preferably an LB Smart Makes all

    the calls!!

    TEACHING PROGRESSION

    STANCE:

    Guards, Tackles, Wings: 2 point feet armpit

    width; outside foot back exaggerated stagger;

    weight on front foot; hands on thigh boards

    fingers pointing straight down; everything must

    be in straight alignment (feet, knees, hips,

    hands, shoulders.

    Without a proper stance you CANNOT Protect

    or Release!!!!! Must be a priority!!!!!

    STANCE:

    Gunners: 2 point feet armpit width; outside

    foot back exaggerated stagger; weight on

    front foot; hands in boxer position.

    PP: 2 point balanced stance; feet shoulder

    width; parallel to slight stagger; hands on thigh

    boards fingers pointing straight down.

    TEACHING PROGRESSION

    ALIGNMENT:

    Splits: 6 inches between Center, Guards,Tackles, Wings; No split between Center /

    Guard in the direction Center is blocking. Gunners: Ball in middle of field split

    numbers and hash; Ball on hash Gunner toboundary top of numbers Gunner to field

    hash mark. PP: No deeper than 6 yards Never step back

    Punter: 15 yards deep.

    TECHNIQUE:

    Center: Snap Ball Block left or right

    dependent on call.

    Guards, Tackles, Wings: Kick Slide twice

    backwards; Straight Back!!!!!! Inside hand up.

    Gunners: RELEASE HARD & FAST; positive

    movement downfield stay pad under pad. PP: Block your man based on call Never Step

    Back!!!!!!!!!!!

    CRITICAL COACHING POINTS

    Approach Punt Team in this order:

    Protection 1st; Actual Punt 2nd; Coverage

    3rd; Fakes 4th.

    Take a holding penalty before allowing a

    BLOCKED PUNT!!!!

    Must have 2 step punter!!

    Treat partially Blocked Punt that crosses

    LOS as a Punt!!

    CRITICAL COACHING POINTS

    Advance or Cover a Blocked Punt that does

    not cross LOS: 4th down Advance; 3rd

    down or less Cover.

    Fair Catch: 1 gunner in front and 1 gunner

    behind return man Touchback situations

    must be worked on.

    Down a punt by picking up and handing to

    official!! 1st touching rule.

    to know on a touchback situation.

    Punter:

    Be prepared for a bad snap

    Be alert for safety situations

    Everyone must communicate who they areblocking. If crossing block who becomes.

    Do be PENALTY FREE!!!!!

    Do PROTECT from ANY BLOCKS!!!!!!!!!!

    Do FORCE a FAIR CATCH!!!!

    Do Limit returns to 5 or LESS YARDS!!!!

    Do Keep opponent from SCORING on aRETURN!!!!!!!

    Anytime a Gunner is uncovered we have theoption to throw the ball to him.

    Guidlines: Outside our 35 with less than 10yards to go.

    White = Right; Purple = Left; Red calls it off.

    OPTION WITH PUNTER AS PITCH MAN.
