This is a super quick and easy pattern that I

whipped up one day as a white elephant gift.

This mug sleeve features a lovely braided cable,

and adjustable sizing. With two button holes,

this sleeve will be sure to fit any mug or cup,

handle or not. It also takes basically no yarn

and can be knit up in less than an hour. Great

for a last minute gift.

Materials: 45-50 yards of any worsted weight yarn will do

Cable needle

1 large button, 1” to 1 1/4 ” should do

Small amount of matching thread, or scrap yarn to sew on button

Size US 7 straight needles

Abbreviations: CO - cast on

STS - stitches

K - knit

BO - bind off

M1 - make one

P - purl

C6F - cable six forward

C6B - cable six behind

K2TOG - knit two together

Instructions: CO 11 sts

Rows 1-3: K

Row 4: K4, BO middle 3 sts, K4 (8sts)

Row 5: K4, CO 3 sts, K4 (11sts)

Rows 6-7: K

Row 8: K4, BO middle 3 sts, K4 (8sts)

Row 9: K4, CO 3 sts, K4 (11sts) Row 10: K

Row 11: K1, M1, K9, M1, K1 (13sts)

Row 12: K

Row 13: K1, M1, K11, M1, K1 (15sts)

Rows 14-15: K Row 16: K3, P9, K3

Row 17: K

Row 18: K3, P9, K3
