ST. ANNE WOMAN'S CLUB NEWSLETTER

August, 1980

Greetings to all! Hard as it is to believe, the lazy days of summer are almost gone and it is time to begin our plans for the 1980-81 year.

Over the summer we had to find replacements for two of our officers. Ann Godula has resigned as Recording Secretary - Bonnie Benda has agreed to fill the unexpired term of one year. Jane de St.Aubin who was elected last spring to be our Treasurer has moved to Georgia - Kathy Luby has been appointed to that post. We thank both for stepping forward to serve our club in these capacities.

Our first meeting of the year will be Monday, September 8 at 7:30 p.m. in the lower level of our NEW PARISH CENTER. The meeting will begin PROMPTLY at 7:30. If possible come a little early - check in is always slow at the first meeting because of dues collection ($6.00). After the business meeting we'll share a pot luck dessert and spend the time making new friends and renewing old. friendships. Please bring your favorite dessert for the potluck. Clem Rowley is hostess for the evening and the board members will help her serve.

During the month of September we will be having membership coffees. If you would like to have a coffee for new members in your neighborhood please call. Mary Helen McCarthy 426-2012. Please also let her know of new people in our parish so they can be invited.

Our club will continue support of Meals on Wheels, House on the Corner, Senior Citizens, our adopted Honduran orphan, altar and church expenses, St. Anne school and CCD, as well as many other worthwhile charities so we need to have each of you actively involved in some phase of our club. Please speak out and let one of the board members know of your particular interest. Let us all give a little extra effort this year to make this one of our best ever!

COMING EVENTS MARK YOUR CALENDAR N(7 *Fall Lundieon and Fashion Show - October 1 at 11:30 at Biltmore Country Club

(This will replace our regular Monday evening meeting) *Rummage Sale - October 23-24. Begin now to collect goods for resale. Plea

strive for more household items and less clothing this year. *Bake Sale & Christmas Boutique - November 74 *AM Theology - First Se-sion September 17 - 9:15 a.m. *Faith & Formation - First Session September . 29 p.m.

WANTED: We need a 'restaurant-type' double door refrigerator and a stainless steel center table for the kitchen in the new building. If you have access to these items please notify Jeanne Walmsley 381-9141.

We also need a manager for the Christian D'Or, our religious goods store. If you can help out there let Jeanne or one of the board members know.

Just a reminder - We still have cookbooks for sale - $7.50. Ask any board member to get one for you.

I wish to take this opportunity to thank Donnaruth Schaul for her efforts on the newsletter for the past two years. It will be difficult to follow in her footsteps. Her newsletters were clever as well as newsy - mine will tend to be "just the facts." Be sure to let me know if an address is incorrect or if you know of someone who is not receiving her newsletter. If there is some-thing of interest to our members you would likes passed along you can call me pt "c51-10c4
