Classic Rock

Page 3: Publishing research

Classic Rock is published by the company Team Rock but it was previously owned by Future plc. The magazine was sold to Team Rock on 2/4/13 with any brands associated with the magazine sold to Team Rock as well. Team Rock is a relatively new publishing company, which is based in the UK, and is centred mainly around the rock genre of music, which explains why they do not yet publish many magazines at this time. Due to being relatively new, they will not have as much experience as other companies in advertising and publishing the magazine; people will also be less aware of them as they have not published many different genres of magazines either. Team Rock publish the magazines: Classic Rock, Metal Hammer, Prog Rock, AOR and Blues - Prog Rock and Blues are created by the same people who make Classic Rock magazine.

Wider marketTeam Rock, as well as the publishing company, also have a: radio station, Facebook page, Twitter, Google+, YouTube and sell merchandise with the Team Rock logo on it to advertise to a wider audience. As it is a relatively new company, by using forms of social media to help advertise their company, they attract a wider audience and allow for other companies to find out about them. This means that they will become more widely known and become a much bigger company, especially as they only publish a few magazines at this time so they do not have as much experience as other companies do.
