as our climate changes, summer droughts are becoming increasingly common. Water is no longer something we can take for granted, even in Britain. Meanwhile, global environmental issues mean that there is also a moral imperative to use water wisely. Th is book introduces the diff erent aspects of water use and water conservation in the garden, showing you both how to use less water and how to save more. Waterwise garden design, water-effi cient gardening techniques, rainwater harvesting and household water recycling will add up to give you a garden that is largely independent of mains water - which is also more attractive, productive and benefi cial to wildlife.
