Welcome to PTC Live Global 2015Welcome to Nashville – Music City – and home of PTC Live Global 2015. PTC/USER and PTC are excited to host this year’s largest training and education event and would like to thank you for joining us.

With more than 330 sessions for mechanical engineers, engineering IT professionals, retail professionals, software and systems engineers, as well as service leaders, our 2015 agenda offers exciting content to not just boost the performance of your team and your organization, but inspire you as you begin your journey toward the new reality of a smart, connected world.

From hands-on, skill-building PTC University training to the latest developments in PTC’s industry-leading solutions as well as a first look at smart, connected products and Internet of Things (IoT) technologies, product development professionals will gain valuable new resources to improve product design and development – now and in the future. Service leaders will access the latest industry research and technology, innovative concepts and best practices for achieving sustainable competitive advantage.

At the Grand Ole Opry House Monday and Tuesday mornings, everyone in attendance will experience stories of engineering innovation from Embraer, KTM North America, Boston Engineering, John Deere and Lockheed Martin Space Systems, and the captivating storytelling of Malcolm Gladwell. Opening the keynotes PTC President and CEO Jim Heppelmann, and fellow executives, will describe – and show – how the Internet of Things is changing the world around us, bridging the physical and digital worlds and how PTC solutions can help you get to this new reality of a smart, connected world.

Outside of sessions, the networking events and Solutions Expo offer countless opportunities to meet and share ideas with colleagues, PTC product experts and partners, and experience hands-on demonstrations of the latest technologies. PTC, ThingWorx, more than 60 of its partners and FIRST robotics teams await you there.

Be sure to download our mobile app for up-to-the minute event information and the chance to collaborate with fellow attendees – right at your fingertips. Or visit the Attendee Resource Center, accessible from liveglobal.ptc.com or through the PTC Live Global kiosks.

For their many contributions to this event, we would like to acknowledge the PTC/USER Board of Directors, Technical Committees, customer presenters and PTC product managers who have developed and will deliver outstanding content this week.

We hope you enjoy your time in Nashville, and wish you a productive week!

KTM: Ready to RaceKTM North America, Jon-Erik Burleson, President“READY TO RACE” – for KTM, these three words are far more than a simple slogan. They stand for the entire company philosophy of developing vehicles that can, without any modifications, comprehensively assert themselves in any race. Direct from the dealer onto the track, and into the battle for victory.

Through revolutionary efforts of engineering success and unorthodox design concepts, KTM’s Research and Development department has pushed the envelope to accomplish the unthinkable. The validation of KTM’s brand success is proven through their 250 world championships; testifying proof of their Ready to Race promise.

This presentation will be delivered by Jon-Erik Burleson, President of KTM North America, where he will demonstrate and elaborate on communicating the brand through the product, and the passion behind the Ready to Race philosophy.

Starting with KTM as a Regional Sales Manager in the fall of 1996, Jon-Erik Burleson was responsible for an 11-state territory while living in Michigan. During this time with KTM, Mr. Burleson worked simultaneously in two internship programs specializing in controlling and

accountancy organized through Lake Superior State University and KTM. Following the completion of his internships, Mr. Burleson became involved in financial analytical duties inside the KTM organization. In 1999, he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Lake Superior State University.

Armed with his field experience and new degree, Mr. Burleson was promoted as Financial Controller and relocated to KTM’s corporate headquarters located in Amherst, OH. While working full-time in his new position as Financial Controller, Mr. Burleson continued to pursue higher-level education training. In 2001, he achieved another milestone graduating with his MBA from Cleveland State University. Continuing his professional development, Mr. Burleson advanced his career a step further accepting the position as Vice President of Finance for KTM in 2003. In this role, he continued his responsibilities in the Controller’s office while taking on additional duties in IT and also implementing the new ERP and CRM package.

In January 2004, Mr. Burleson received the honor of being elected as a member of the Board of Directors for KTM North America, Inc.
