In March 2015, PT Ungaran Sari Garments held an employee and family gathering with the theme of “Healthy and Happy” for the unit in Ungaran. The event began with a walk for health around the locality near the factory. The local community heads also joined in the event. This was followed by peformances from employees exhibiting their talent in singing and dancing. Additionally there were programs involving children of employees such as a coloring contest, planting trees and collaborative games. All employees participated in the event. They enjoyed the activities enthusiastically. The event further increased the sense of kinship between the company, employees and their families. Door prizes were distributed during the event. A total of 150 door prizes were distributed, including a washing machine, TV, smartphone and DVD player.

PT USG goes Healthy and Happy!

In March 2015, PT Ungaran Sari Garments held an employee and family gathering with the theme of “Healthy and Happy” for the unit in Ungaran. The event began with a walk for health around the locality near the factory. The local community heads also joined in the event. This was followed by peformances from employees exhibiting their talent in singing and dancing. HERproject Training Since February 2015, HERproject trainings have been regularly provided for 40 Peer Educators in the Congol unit. The women employees were educated by the Healthy Toddler Foundation on how to pursue a healthy life for the mother, child and family, as well as ways to further empower women to have a better life.

Industrial Engineering Monthly Meeting

The implementation of the 45th

Industrial Engineering monthly meeting was held in Pringapus unit on February 12, 2015. There were 50 industrial engineers from each unit of PT Ungaran Sari Garments. The theme this time was "Continuous Improvement". Each engineer shared their methods, innovations, obstacles and experiences they have had during their work.

“Throw Away The Stress and Express Yourself!”

In February 2015, PT Ungaran Sari Garments Pringapus unit organized an event for all employees called “Throw Away Stress and Express Yourself!” the event was held to entertain the employees on a Saturday evening. There was music and dance in which all employees participated enthusiastically. Around 150 Appreciation Certificates were awarded to the Best Performing Employees.

UNIDO Pilot Project

PT Ungaran Sari Garments was the first garment company in Indonesia to become a UNIDO pilot project for the implementation of an energy management system according to ISO 50001. On March 27, 2015, Mr. Sanjaya Shrestha as the Project Manager and Mr. Aris Ika Nugrahanto as the National Project Coordinator visited the Pringapus unit to see firsthand the development of the implementation of this project which started 10 months prior from the kick-off in June 2014.

Grouping Lamps Project

The project of grouping lights production areas as a form of energy savings has been completed by the Ungaran unit in March 2015. There were 1348 light fixtures that have been grouped in order to be switched on and off as needed. This effort is able to save for 14,558 kWh per year, equivalent to 1,352.72 USD anually. The installation of lights has been designed in such a way that lights can be easily accessed by employees for switching on and off as needed.

Local Community Care

Cleaned Up The Local River

Cleaning up local river has become an annual program of PT Ungaran Sari Garments together with the Semarang District Government to preserve the environment. On March 20, 2015, in the area of Salter, 4 kilometers from Ungaran Unit, PT Ungaran Sari Garments sent 40 employees to get involved in the activity.

Local Community Care

200 Palm Trees Cultivated from Coconuts

As part The Go Green Program, PT Ungaran Sari Garments has implemented “One Employee, One Tree” program since 2011. Currently, there have been 13,197 trees planted successfully. In addition to planting trees, palm tree seedlings and plants are provided to local villages. In January 2015, a total of 200 coconut seedlings were distributed to local village residents within 7 kilometers from the Pringapus units. After the handover of the seedlings to the village leaders, Mr. Satrio as a company representative, planted one tree.

Donation of Dustbins

In February 2015, PT Ungaran Sari Garments donated 10 dustbins to Bodean residents, a small village just 2 kilometers from the Pringapus unit. This is part of the company program to help and support nearby villages to become cleaner and free of garbage strewn on the streets.
