Sir Alfred HitchcockNickname: Master Of Suspense
Alfred Hitchcock was raised as a strict Catholic, he first became interested in
movies around 1915 and started to regularly attend the cinema and read the
US trade journals. He then continued on to make movie titles in 1920 and got his first
taste of directing with ‘Always Tell Your Wife’ as the director fell ill. In 1923 he was then hired to direct a film called ‘Number
13’ although the production was never completed due to the closure of the
studios. He ventured on to make some of the most famous psychological/thriller
films. Being Knighted in 1980 for his contribution in the film industry.

Martin Scorsese
Martin Scorsese is a renowned American film director, screenwriter, producer, actor and film
historian. He is hailed as one of the most influential filmmakers of all time. He is most well
known for directing the film ‘The Departed’ which casted Leonardo DiCaprio. He then went on to win The Academy Award For Best Director
with this film, previously being nominated 5 times before.
He also has directed some of the most well known Psychological Thrillers, such as “Shutter
Island” once again starring Leonardo DiCaprio, this would have made it his fourth time
working with him.
David Lynch
David Lynch is an American filmmaker, television director, visual artist, musician and occasional
actor. He is well known for his surreal films, developing his own unique cinematic style
characterised by its dream imagery and meticulous sound design. His films have been
known to “disturb, offend or mystify” audiences.
Over his career, Lynch has received three Academy Award nominations for Best Director and a nomination for best screenplay. He has
twice won France’s César Award For Best Foreign Film.
Anthony Hopkins
Sir Phillip Anthony Hopkins, CBE is a welsh actor of film, stage, television and a composer.
He is considered to be one of the greatest living actors. Hopkins is perhaps best known for his portrayal of ‘Hannibal Lecter’ in “The
Silence Of The Lambs”
As well as his Academy Award, he has won three BAFTA Awards, two Emmys and a Cecil B.
DeMille Golden Globe Award.
Hopkins was knighted in 1993 for services of his arts. He received a star on the Hollywood
Walk Of Fame in 2003, and was made a Fellow of the British Academy Of Film And Television
Arts in 2008.
Leonardo DiCaprio
Leonardo DiCaprio is an American actor and film producer. He has been nominated for the Golden Globe Award nine times as an
actor, and won the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor for his performance in “The
Aviator”.
He has started in the hit film “Shutter Island” which was ranked among the biggest commercial successes of his career.
DiCaprio owns a production company named Appian Way Productions, whose productions
include the films “Gardner Of Eden” and “Orphan”.
Nicole KidmanNicole Kidman is an Australian-American
actress, singe and film producer. Nicole has starred in various Australian film and television
productions until her breakthrough in the 1989 thriller “Dead Calm”. Her performance in the musical “Moulin Rouge” earned her second
Golden Globe Award and first Academy Award nomination for Best Actress. Venturing on to win
the Academy Award for Best Actress.
She has starred in the psychological thriller “Others”. Kidman has been a Goodwill
Ambassador for UNICEF since 1994 and for UNIFEM since 2006. Kidman's work has earned
her a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame, three Golden Globe Awards, one BAFTA and an
Academy Award. She is also the highest-paid actress in the motion picture industry.
