Duties of the PSSC

• What are the Responsibilities of PSSC Members?

• The PSSC assists the Principal in an advisory role. The committee addresses the broad issues related to the education of all students in the school, with the goal of enhancing student learning. Primarily these issues arise from input, discussions and study of the school improvement plan. This includes helping the school by advising on which aspects of learning that need to be improved; the priority of those identified learning areas; and strategies/actions that focus on those areas.

Section 33(1-2) of the Education Act provides details on the responsibilities of PSSC members.

• How can the PSSC help?

• We can send a story and pictures to the newspapers to get printed.

• Could we put on a sponsored add to boost facebook activity?

• We will look at publishing info on our next project – Best Buy STEAM Lab!

• What can we do about the electrical equipment on the 3 – 5 playground?

• Concerns:

• Is it a safety issue?

• Can it be moved?

• Can it be covered?

• Are there other options?

• Can the balls be removed?

New Business

• Litter by the Fence.

• Can we contact the businesses and see if we can get the litter cleaned up? We could have children pick up garbage.
