2.12 How does IQAC Contribute/Monitor/Evaluate the Teaching & Learning processes:

Feedback from the stakeholders (students, alumni, industry experts and parents)

College arranges corrective programs for teaching and non-teaching staff to ensure

quality in students' learning process.

Monitor the classes by higher authorities for real time assessment of teaching quality.

Performance appraisal faculty members are analyzed.

Tutorials are conducted in order to give exercises to the students and also to closely

monitor their learning ability and achievement.

Courses which require more practice, includes critical thinking or programming are

provided with tutorial classes. Tutorial classes are assigned one hour / week.

Tutorial hours are specially marked in the time table and the lesson plan with predefined

activities is prepared.

involved in Curriculum development process by including them in the Board of

Studies and Academic Council which are statutory bodies that are responsible for the

By involving the stakeholders in the curriculum design, the college ensures that the

curriculum developed encompasses components for employability, research,topics in

emerging trends, social relevance and social needs.

The College follows the guidelines for curriculum development and restructuring set

down by the UGC and Anna University. Boards of Studies, the Academic Council and

Governing Body of the institution are constituted according to the norms laid down by

the UGC.

Outcome based education method has been followed

Revised Bloom’s taxonomy is applied to express the level of expertise required to

achieve each measurable student outcome.

Creation of learning environment in classes which includes critical thinking, case

analysis and creativity

For all programmes practical orientation is insisted in the form of projects,

industrial visit, guest lectures, workshops, seminars.

Field exposure is imparted through conduction of science exhibition, hardware

project contest, trade bazaar and so on.

Teaching and Learning process is strengthened with the help of e-learning

resources, On-line Learning (Moodle) software.

Faculty development programmes and in-service training are conducted once in a

year to enrich their teaching-learning methods.

All the processes of examination and evaluation are automated using a

custom made GEIS and IBOSSEMS software package.

The Evaluation pattern of the end semester comprises with has 30 % mark

weightage Internal Assessments Tests and 70 % mark weightage for End

semester Examination.
