Objectives of PSAP&eCall project
Setting up a new structure for implementing interoperable eCall service in Austria by October 1, 2017:
• The centralisation from 100 to 9 upgraded PSAPs in Austria
• An established PSAP infrastructure for correct receipt and handling of eCalls
• Offering a harmonised public eCall service that covers Austria as well as requirements to handle cross-border rescue needs.
• A deployed PSAP and eCall system that meets the specific EU requirements and directives.
• A realised cooperation of PSAPs with all involved rescue organisations and stakeholders, like MNO´s, road operators etc.

o Adapting the network for routing eCalls according to the new
PSAP organisational structure (incl. eCall Flag) DONE

Open Challenges
Procurement of completely upgraded emergency and
operation control centres is ongoing, including central
server infrastructure and stepwise PSAP upgrade is
combined with it. Delay due to bidders complaint.
Preparation of training for the operational staff on the new
PSAPs, while performing regular 24/7 PSAP service has
started.
eCall test procedures including KPI´s for usability will be
included in the regular quality assurance operational
processes of the (PSAP CAD) service centres.

Oct. 2017 => “eCall-ready” with at least 1 PSAP (Vienna)
Early 2018 => 3 PSAP’s renewed, incl. CAD and eCall
End 2018 => all 9 PSAP’s up and running
