PS24 AJ Night Hawks Basketball Team

Our First Home Game!!!

It was a close and exciting game! Our administrators,

teachers, staff and fellow students all cheered alongside the

AJ Nighthawk cheerleaders at our first basketball home game

on Dec 21, 2017. It was definitely a fun game to watch

thanks to our players coached by Mr. Mike Caputo and cheer-

leaders led by Mrs. Christina Mayer!

Meet our Coaches!

Mrs. Pascale Lindor & Ms. Jaclyn Rajwan

Mrs. Pascale Lindor has been at PS24Q since 2005. She became our

Literacy & Social Studies Coach in 2014. Ms. Jacyln Rajwan has been

at PS24Q since 2006. She became our Math, Science, & Technology

Coach in 2014.

Our coaches work with teachers in all grades to collaboratively and

purposefully plan instruction to meet student needs. Mrs. Lindor and

Ms. Rajwan also work with groups of students to provide academic

intervention services. In addition to working with school staff and stu-

dents, they are involved in the PTA and many family events; they work

together to make sure our parents have the tools they need to support

their children.

Mrs. Lindor is also one of the school’s cheerleading coaches, bringing

school spirit to various events. Ms. Rajwan is one of our Chorus direc-

tors and is also one of the Showcase Fellows, working to bridge math

practices at PS24Q with other schools in the NYC. Ms. Rajwan and

Mrs. Lindor are dedicated to empowering each student to be the best

they can be!

SLT members discussed at this meeting

the importance of reading habits during

holiday break. Use this time to engage in

fun activities with your children. There are

plenty of free events for families across

the City, or simply take a walk to the park.

SLT members are excited about our New-

comers Parent Buddy Program for families

who are new to the country or to our

school. This program helps parents to get

to know the community better and help to

fit in their new environment. Please con-

tact Mr. Said for more information.

A serious safety issue of our children was

discussed - the need for speed bumps or

a second safety agent to help our children

cross the roads safely. Let's team up and

work together to make things happen.

January 22, 2018, beginning at 4pm.
