MISSIONS

K h a r k o v , U k r a i n e

(HAR-kov) - "Paskah" (Easter) is the most celebrated Christian holi-

day in Ukraine. Multitudes will gather outside local Orthodox church-

es with baskets of fruit, wine, Paskah bread, meats, and other pro-

duce to have them blessed by the priest. Most will spend Easter

Sunday on picnics or family gatherings, but have no understanding

of the meaning of the death and resurrection of our Lord, Jesus

Christ. Pray that as the thoughts of many Ukrainians are turned

toward Jesus over the Easter season, even out of tradition, Christ

will arise in their hearts, leading them to know Him as Lord and

Savior!
