2020 Clermont County Kennel Club and Specialties COVID-19 Operating Guidelines

The Clermont County Kennel Club, Inc. (CCKC) Organizers will work with state and local governments and public health authorities prior to the start of the cluster to determine risks and mitigation measures. On-Site Process and Procedures Clermont County Kennel Club, Inc. shall require temperature monitoring for volunteers, officials, exhibitors, and service providers at delivery of signed waiv-er. Anyone with a temperature of 100.4 or higher will not be allowed to enter the grounds. Everyone entering show grounds will be required to wear a mask. Signage to this effect will be posted at the entrance and through-out the grounds. After receipt of signed waiver and successful required temperature check individuals will be provided a wristband. Wrist-bands must be worn at all times inside the show room. If you lose your wristband or require a replacement you will need to complete a new signed waiver and successfully complete a new required temperature check. The following individuals will not be permitted on the show grounds: • An individual who exhibits COVID-19 symptoms,

• An individual who has tested positive for COVID-19 within last two weeks, or • An individual who has been in contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 within the last two weeks. Signage will be posted that displays all applicable federal, state, and local regu-lations, requirements, and orders as well as WHO recommendations and CDC guidelines as they relate to mass gatherings and sporting events in effect at the show. Signage will be posted at all entrances to the show grounds which identifies the symptoms of COVID-19 and states the following: •To protect others from possible transmission of the virus, anyone who exhibits COVID-19 symptoms or has been in contact with someone who has tested posi-tive for COVID-19 within the last two weeks (exception, healthcare personnel who have treated patients using appropriate medical-grade PPE during the course of performing professional duties), cannot enter the show grounds. The-se individuals are encouraged to contact their health care provider immediately for further medical advice and must obtain documented clearance from their health care provider before entering the show grounds. Participants must as-sume responsibility for themselves and their own staff (e.g. assistants, etc.). • Recommendations about good hygiene along with informing participants and others about ways to reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission.

Social Distancing & Limiting Entries The Clermont County Kennel Club, Inc. shall enforce social distancing require-ments throughout the show grounds at all times.

• Prohibit the public, spectators, and non-essential personnel such as guests from being on the show grounds. Non-participants will not be allowed inside the show area.

8 October 16-18, 2020

• Organize dog and exhibitor arrivals and departures to limit contact between people, (e.g. show time is 10am, please leave the area immediately after you show and not return unless you have another dog to show in another time slot) • Arrange judges’ and other officials’ areas to comply with social distancing

requirements.

• Restrict show office and judges area access to essential personnel only. Lim-ited entry will be considered if necessary. • Extra activities will be limited and subject to the same rules and regulations • Regardless of the scope of the limitation, the limiting of entries must be done on a first come, first served basis and relevant information will be posted on the Superintendent’s website. • Configure grooming to comply with social distancing requirements. Enforcement Authority Stewards, Club members, and AKC officials will inform individuals when they are not in compliance with the regulations and requirements in effect at the show and shall report such situations to the Club Officials and AKC. The Show Management has the authority to remove from the facility any person who does not comply with the regulations and requirements in effect.

If an individual needs an accommodation under the Americans with Disabilities Act, request should be submitted, along with documentation of the disability and need for accommodation, to show chair at address provided in premium. Requests for accommodation will be reviewed on a confidential basis with a medical consultant. Participants are required to comply with these and any additional Show Or-ganizer requirements at all times while present on show grounds. Failure to do so may result in expulsion from the grounds. These requirements are in effect immediately and until further notice, howev-er, they are subject to revisions as the COVID-19 environment changes. Recommended Best Practices for CCKC The following Recommended Best Practices have been provided to assist Show Organizers with determining risks and developing measures to mitigate those risks: • Limit the number of entrances and exits to the show area to manage the number of Individuals accessing the show grounds. All entrances and exits must be manned to limit access. • Communication: Use radio and cell phone communication methods as much as possible and communicate important information frequently throughout the show grounds. Considerations for Club Members, Medical Personnel, Service Provid-ers & Volunteers • Cleaning/Sanitizing Locations: Provide hand sanitizing stations with access to soap and water or alcohol-based hand sanitizer at several areas through the grounds.

Page 9: provided for in Chapter 11, Section 6 of the Dog Show Rules … · sport of purebred dogs is well served by the AK Junior Showmanship Program. K wishes to show its support for the

Clermont County Kennel Club, Inc 9

• Provide hand sanitizer to all officials, ring crew, clean up and medical offi-cials. Ensure frequent cleaning and sanitizing of bathrooms, provide soap and water or alcohol-based hand sanitizer in bathrooms. Ring Procedure • All dogs enter on one side of the ring and exit on the other side. Follow signage. • Dogs will stand at designated spots when waiting to be judged and when judge is examining the dog, the exhibitor and dog will move up to the next line and do their individual movement and return to the end of the line. The judge will point to the dog for its placement while standing in the lines (spaced 6 feet away from the other dogs). Provide markers to delineate 6 feet spacing between people in any waiting lines (e.g., markers on floor or gait-ing). Armbands Procedure • There will be tables inside our building for you to pick up your numbers. • Ring Stewards and armband pickup locations WILL NOT have catalogs available. Be certain you know your dog’s armband number and class. • There will be an entrance to the building and an exit to keep distancing, to

the extent possible. • Please do not gather in the building. • Please be on the lookout for Armband Procedure updates Parking Considerations • Parking area will be maintained completely separate from show area. RV parking is separate from regular auto parking. Parking area is no less than 15 feet from show area. • RV’s will be parked no less than 15 feet apart. They will all be parked facing the same direction to ensure maximum separation of RV entrance/exits. • Automobiles will be parked in a separate area and will be parked no less than 6 feet apart. • There will be no gatherings of any kind at any time allowed in any parking area. Catalog Procedures • Ring Stewards and armband pickup locations WILL NOT have catalogs available. • Catalogs will be available to purchase online at Foy Trent Dog Shows when you enter the shows. • Prepaid catalogs will be available for pickup at the shows. • A limited number of catalogs will be available for purchase at the show. Pre-

order strongly suggested.

USE OF RAMPS A judge requesting the use of a ramp must give notice to the show superintendent/show secretary prior to judging. AKC approval is not required. The entire entry in a breed is to be examined in the same manner (ground, table, or ramp). FSS OPEN SHOW

An FSS Open Show is an informal American Kennel Club sanctioned conformation event at which Championship points are not earned but rather Certificate of Merit (CM) points are awarded to this introductory AKC conformation suffix title. The FSS Open Shows are events at which dog clubs, judges, stewards, and exhibitors and their dogs gain experience needed for licensed events.

All of the Rules Applying to Dog Shows will apply to sanctioned FSS Open Shows, except where otherwise stated in these Regulations which are subject to amendment by the AKC Board of Directors.

• Dogs must be at least 4 months of age on the date of the event. The following breed classes will be offered at the FSS Open Shows:

(All Classes Divided by Sex) • 4-6 Month Puppy Class • 6-9 Month Puppy Class

• 9-12 Month Puppy Class • Bred By Exhibitor Class

• Open Class

• Miscellaneous breeds will be considered equivalent to a Group. • The Miscellaneous Class winner will compete with the Group winners for Best in Show. •FSS breeds will be considered equivalent to a Group. • The Best FSS winner will compete with the Group winners for Best in Show. FSS Open Show Entry Restrictions • Dogs less than 4 months of age are ineligible to be on the grounds of licensed or member shows during AKC events. • Dogs are required to be vaccinated in accordance with their veterinarian’s protocol (including rabies vaccination) in order to avoid inadvertent transmission of illness by/to puppies not yet fully immunized. • Professional handlers or agents are only permitted to exhibit in FSS Open Shows if they are listed as an owner of record of the dog being exhibited. Professional handlers are defined as any person who belongs or has belonged to a professional handlers’ organization, distributed rate cards, or otherwise advertised or represented themselves as handling dogs for pay. • No judge or any person residing in the same household with a judge shall exhibit or act as agent or handler at an FSS Open Show at which they are officiating as judge and dogs owned wholly or in part by such judge or any member of their household shall be ineligible to be entered at the show. Subject to the foregoing, members of a judge’s immediate family who no longer reside in the same household may enter or handle a dog at a show if the judge is not officiating over any competition, including a group class or best in show, for which the dog is entered or may become eligible. • No dog is to be judged if it is brought into the ring bandaged, taped, glued or stitched anywhere including ears or tail. These dogs must be excused from judging but, at the judge’s discretion, may return to be judged after the tape or bandage is removed. • The show chair is required to be a member of the show-giving club. • The show results and event service fee of $2.00 per entry must be submitted to AKC Event Operations within seven (7) days of the event. • Dealing with Misconduct will be applicable to any person and dog entered in this competition. • FSS Open shows must be judged by judges that have an AKC judges number. • Judges are expected to comply with Rules Applying to Dog Shows and Rules, Policies, and Guidelines for Conformation Dog Show Judges except as follows: • Breed standard disqualifications (i.e. color, height, full dentition, etc.) need not be considered in the 4-to-6 Month Puppy classes and male puppies without 2 fully descended testicles need not be disqualified or excused in the 4-to-6 Month Puppy class but the judge’s book must describe the condition.

• In all other classes, male puppies without 2 fully descended testicles need not be disqualified but should be excused and the judge’s book must describe the condition and Certificate of Merit points withheld. • The speed of judging expectation is reduced to 20 dogs per hour in order to accommodate puppies and inexperienced exhibitors. Judges should interact and encourage exhibitors in order to make their exhibiting a positive experience. • Judges may ask exhibitors if they prefer to open their dog’s mouth for examination. However judges have the authority to personally open the dog’s mouth. • No protests against dogs for height, weight or any other breed specific disqualification may be entertained at FSS Open Shows. • A dog with a disqualifying condition or behavior shall not be disqualified but shall simply be excused for the day. The judge may only disqualify dogs for attacking in the ring. Ribbons and Trophies Ribbons for classes, Groups and Best in Show will be as follows: • First Prize – Rose • Second Prize – Brown • Third Prize – Light Green • Fourth Prize – Gray • Best of Breed – Orange • Best of Opposite Sex to Best of Breed – Lavender • Best in Show – Pink & Green All trophies or prizes offered must be awarded for outright award to the owner of the dog. Certificate of Merit The Certificate of Merit (CM) title is an introductory title to AKC conformation events. Entrants in each breed shall compete for Best of Breed and Best of Opposite Sex to Best of Breed. Winners of the Best of Breed in each of the individual breeds will be awarded points toward the CM title based on the number of dogs competing in their breed. Best of Opposite Sex to Best of Breed in each of the individual breeds will be awarded points towards the Certificate of Merit (CM) title based on the total number of dogs competing in their sex. Group winners will be eligible for the points based on the total number of dogs that competed in the Group. Best in Show will be eligible for the points based on the total number of dogs that competed in the show.

Non-Regular Classes Involving Multiple Dog Entries

MCONO Only Friday, October 16, 2020

NOTE: As the judge's decision in the Stud Dog, Brood Bitch, and Brace Classes is based upon the merits of more than one dog or bitch, no one of the dogs or bitches making up the entry judged first in these classes will be eligible to compete for Best of Breed by virtue of having won in these classes. The following classes will be awarded first place only.

STUD DOG CLASS - For Stud Dogs and two of their Get. It is not necessary that the Get be under the same ownership as that of the Stud Dog. The Stud Dog may be entered separately in one of the Regular or Non-Regular Classes or if a Champion of Record, for Best of Breed/Variety Competi-tion or may be entered for Stud Dog Class only at the regular entry fee. The Get MUST be entered in one of the Regular or Non-Regular Classes. The Stud Dog unit shall be considered as one entry and requires only one entry fee. The Stud Dog must be entered in the Stud Dog Class and shown in the ring with their Get. Get only to be judged on the merits of the Get. While the merits of the Stud Dog are not to be considered in the placement of the entry, the Stud Dog must be examined to determine if it has a condition that would require its disqualification or excus-al under AKC Rules Applying to Dog Shows, AKC Policy or Standard for the Breed.

BROOD BITCH CLASS - same as for the stud dog except substitute brood bitch for stud dog and produce for get. NOTE: Chapter 11, Section 8, AKC Rules Applying to Dog Shows provides that castrated males may be entered as Stud Dog and spayed females may be entered as Brood Bitch.

BRACE CLASS - Two dogs of the same recognized breed or variety that are similar in appear-ance, performing in unison, and presented by a maximum of two handlers. Both dogs in the Brace must have at least one common owner. Dogs comprising a Brace must be named at the time of entry. If a dog which is to be part of a Brace is NOT ENTERED in another class at this show, it must be entered for "BRACE CLASS ONLY". In making entries for "Brace Class Only", full particulars must be given on an Official AKC Entry Form. If the dog is entered in another class, Brace must be marked as an "Additional Class". If more than one Brace is entered by an individual owner, please designate dogs comprising each Brace as "Brace # 1", "Brace # 2", etc.

Non-Regular Classes Involving Multiple Dog Entries (show 1 only)

Stud Dog Class – For Stud Dogs and two of their Get. It is not necessary that the Get be under the same ownership as that of the Stud Dog. The Stud Dog may be entered in one of the Regular or Non-Regular Classes or, if a Champion of Record, in Best of Breed competition, but must be en-tered in the Stud Dog class. The Stud Dog may be entered in the Stud Dog Class only. The Get must be entered in one of the Regular Classes or, if a Champion of Record, in Best of Breed com-petition. The Stud Dog shall be considered one entry. NO ENTRY FEE FOR THIS CLASS. The Stud Dog must be shown in the ring with the Get. The class will be judged based on the merits of the Get. While the merits of the Stud Dog are not to be considered in the placement of the entry, the Stud Dog must be examined to determine if it has a condition that would require its disqualifica-tion or excusal under the dog show rules, AKC policy, or the standard of the breed. Brood Bitch Class - same as for Stud Dog except substitute Brood Bitch for Stud Dog and Produce for Get.

*Chapter 11, Section 8 of the "Rules Applying to Dog Shows" provides that a neutered male may be entered as a Stud Dog in the Stud Dog Class and a spayed Bitch may be entered as a Brood Bitch in the Brood Bitch Class.

As the judge's decision in the Stud Dog, Brood Bitch, and Brace classes will be based on the merits of more than one dog or bitch, no one of the dogs or bitches making up the entry judged first in the class will be eligible to compete for Best of Breed by virtue of having won either of these clas-ses.
