A journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step A coward dies a thousand times before his death. The valiant never taste of death but

once. A drop of knowledge is greater than an ocean of strength A good beginning makes (for) a good ending. A half truth is a whole lie. A man's home is his castle. A penny saved is a penny earned. A rolling stone gathers no moss. A woman is like a cup of tea; you'll never know how strong she is until she boils All cats love fish but hate to get their paws wet. Before criticizing a man, walk a mile in his shoes. Better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it. doubt. Better late than never. Better safe than sorry. Beware of Greeks bearing gif Desperate times call for desperate measures. Different strokes for different folks.

Meaning: Do not rest all your hopes on one eventuality; plan for several cases. Don't put the cart before the horse.

Meaning: Do things in the correct order. Don't try to teach a pig to sing. It doesn't work, and you'll annoy the pig.

Durrant> Education makes machines which act like men and produces men who act like machines Everything can be justified until it happens to you. Everything with time Everything in its own time. Everything changes; everything stays the same. Effort is important, but knowing where to make an effort makes all the difference! Fifty percent of something is better than one hundred percent of nothing. Fools rush in where angels fear to tread.

Many possible interpretations- Things change over time- If you are good at one aspect of a skill, you should be skilled at the other aspects, such as a painter who says he can't draw, yet both painting and drawing are aspects of art.- No matter of the outside, we are all the same inside.

It is better to die on one's feet than live on one's knees. If at first you don't succeed, try, try again. If it can't be cured, it must be endured. If God had wanted man to fly, he would have given him wings. If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all If you don't know where you're going, any train will get you there. If you want breakfast in bed, sleep in the kitchen. If you want to judge a man's character, give him power. If you were born to be shot, you'll never be hanged. If you're in a hole, stop digging. If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the problem. It's better to want something you can't have than have something you don't want. It is not so much the gift that is given but the way in which the gift is driven. It takes two to make a quarrel.

Alternatively: It takes two to tango. Jack of all trades and master of none. (18th Century) Literal meaning: Anyone who's good at everything is not a master of anything. Keep your mouth shut and your eyes open. (18th Century) Knowledge is power. (17th Century) Laugh and the world laughs with you .. Cry and you will find no one with tears. Laughter is the best medicine for them who do not know how to laugh. Laughter is the shortest distance between two people. Let him who is without sin cast the first stone.

Jesus Christ Life imitates art Life is a perception of your own reality. Life is like a box of chocolate, you never know what you're gonna get Life is too short to drink bad wine. Life is just a bowl of cherries. Life is what you make of it.

meaning: Nothing's going to change unless you do something about it Necessity is the mother of all invention Noblesse oblige.

French expression: To be a member of the nobility carries obligations to care for the lower classes

Power tends to corrupt; absolute power corrupts absolutely. Proverbs run in pairs.

Meaning: Every proverb seems to be contradicted by another proverb with an opposed message, such as "too many cooks spoil the broth" and "many hands make light work."

Politeness cost nothing and gains everything. <M.W. Montagu> Peace Sells, but who's Buying? <Megadeth> Rules were meant to be broken. Rome wasn't built in a day Someone who gossips to you will gossip about you. Self trust is the first secret of success. Sell a man a fish, he eats for a day, teach a man how to fish, you ruin a wonderful

business opportunity.

Latin: Tempus fugit! Time and tide wait for none. To err is human; to forgive, divine. (Pope, Essay on Criticism) To know the road ahead ask those coming back. Tomorrow is another day. Try not to become a man of success but a man of value. Try try but don't cry.

Meaning: Never give up in life. The worst way to miss someone is to be sitting right beside them knowing you can't have

them. The more you study, the more you know. The more you know, the more you forget. The

more you forget, the less you know. The less you know the more you study. When a thing is done advice comes too late. When you lie on roses while young, you'll lie on thorns while you're old. We have nothing to fear but fear itself.

By: Franklin D. Roosevelt Well done" is better than "well said". When in Rome, do as the Romans do. You can't make an omelet without breaking eggs. You can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear.
