CHILDREN PROTECTION OFFICERS OPI’S

Specialized individuals on the Rights of Children within the migration authority

Receive the child in Mexico and protect his rights while in custody of migration

Inform him in an adequate manner the situation and his rights,

Identify his need of international protection as an asylum seeker a victim of torture or trafficking,

Notify the appropriate institutions for shelter and international protection.

Accompany the child to his medical evaluation,

Accompany the child to the shelter

In some cases with the support of IOM accompany him in the travel to his home

Regional Guidelines for the Attention of Unaccompanied Boys, Girls, and Adolescents Migrants

Done in Mexico at a Regional Seminar and will be presented in the Next RCM meeting in Guatemala.
