46 Hear from Our Students
WELCOMETO THEMISThemis School of Law is Karachi’s premier law school, which has, within a short span of time, carved its name as an institution which provides unparalleled learning opportunities for its students. We are known to provide a highly inspiring and supportive environment in which to study law and to develop as a confident young professional.
Law is a dynamic subject which governs our everyday lives and is an integral part of the society in which we live in. At the same time, it is one of the most rewarding and respectable field of study. Most of the prominent leaders, in both history and present day, including Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Allama Iqbal, Abraham Lincoln, Mahatma Gandhi, and Nelson Mandela had all studied law, which unarguably aided them in bringing about notable and meaningful changes to the world. The study of law develops, amongst other formidable range of skills, your intellectual ability, problem solving, and interpersonal skills, which are not only essential for success in the legal sector but which you can transfer to many other sectors, such as multinational companies, banking, finance, information technology, media, bureaucracy / government services, law enforcement, and politics. In fact, a legal qualification is highly valued by employers everywhere in the world.
The law programme at Themis School of Law consistently receives high ratings for its teaching quality and innovative and progressive approach towards legal education. The lectures and seminars are conducted by academics and leading practicing lawyers who are experts in their field, and are supplemented by tutorials which are focused on exam preparation and success. Although, we take pride in having the best academic faculty, we nevertheless also have a stringent quality assurance mechanism which means that the teaching is constantly being monitored by the management to ensure that you receive relevant and focused learning material.
In addition, our distinguishing factor is our focus and emphasis on skills development and not merely on absorption and memorisation of information. We seek to instill all the traditional skills of a lawyer, such as critical analysis, problem-solving and written and oral presentation in our students, which are required of a qualified lawyer right after completion of their legal studies. With an outlook towards future employability and to develop competent graduates, with requisite skills and knowledge, we have pioneered and introduced supplementary law programmes such as the Pakistani Legal Skills Course, Themis Law Clinic, Critical Thinking & Analysis Sessions, Moot Court Competitions, Criminal Mock Trials, Legal Show and regular visits to the courts. The supplementary law programmes are conducted alongside our core curriculum and guarantees that our students think and act like lawyers from day one and are prepared to stand out in today’s competitive legal environment.

We also take your career aspirations very seriously and therefore have a dedicated department for career services and employability, which guides you at every step regarding your postgraduate study options, including BPTC, LPC, LLM, as well as assisting you with placements in lawfirms for internship and employment.
However, Themis is not just about academics; it is equally important that you take time out from your studies and enjoy your university life. To this end, the Themis Law Society, a student-led society arranges various activities throughout the academic year, including beach trips, musical evening, games night and other activities for the entire student body.
You also have the choice of running for elections and having a say in the student affairs! Moreover, there are numerous other student-led societies and clubs on campus, including Music Society, Sports Society, Drama Society which you can join and arrange activities therein.
All in all, Themis School of Law is a friendly and supportive law school, which is dedicated to your professional and personal development and success. We endeavour to provide you with a complete law school experience and to make your undergraduate study exciting, challenging and rewarding. If you have the aptitude, enthusiasm and motivation to study law with excellent facilities and outstanding student support, then you should apply to Themis School of Law.
Sincerely,

Firstly, you must consider success in the study of law is not solely dependent on how well you have performed in school, although a strong academic background can play a fundamental role. But your prior academics are not the only foundation which will determine how well you will eventually perform in LLB and/or in the profes-sion. There are many other vocational skills which will eventually have more impact on your success than anything else. Some of these skills include an ability to express ideas both in writing and in speaking, the ability to analyse, the ability to perform thorough research and the most important of all is the ability to do true hard work.
In our country, there is a mindset about that believes that if a student cannot perform well in mathematics and science then that individual will not be able to perform well in any other disciplines. This conclusion is incorrect as there are many successful lawyers who have not performed well in maths and science but have done extreme-ly well both at the law school and in the profession. Hence, if you want to complete a degree which involves reading, writing, research and analysis at the same time, then law is one of the disciplines which you must consider as a career.
Moreover, in Pakistan, fortunately or unfortunately, if you want to enter the legal profession the barriers of entries are not that stringent, contrary to what actually the profession demands. The regulatory bodies such as the Bar Councils do not play an active role in regulating the uniformity and quality of legal education. Thus, practically the entire responsibility lies primarily with law schools to train their law students in such a way that they are inspired to contribute to the profession from various possible angles and on YOU. How well you will do in your legal career has a direct relationship to the commitment you put into it.
For example, it is quite helpful for you from your early days of law school that you keep yourself involved in Moot Court competitions, Mock trials, Research, Internships etc., as all these activities not only benefit an inspir-ing lawyer but help the fraternity as a whole.
Finally, as a lawyer you will have to navigate around your way to the answer of what type of lawyer you want to be in the future i.e., a corporate lawyer, a litigator or an in-house counsel. You are not alone in facing this dilemma. You must be open to the ideas of possibilities and try your hand at the various options through intern-ships during your studies. You should ask your peers and seniors for advice and weigh their opinions. Soon, you will make the right choice for you.
I just want to say that life is bigger and better than you can even imagine, as long as you are ready to work for it. I wish you all the best for the start of your legal journey.
Sincerely,
Message from theCo-Founder and DirectorHello, ladies and gentlemen.

One of the significant aims of education is to produce learners who are well informed, that is to say, learners should understand ideas that are important, useful, beautiful and powerful. Another is to create learners who have the appetite to think analytically and critically, to use what they know to enhance their own lives and also to contribute to their society, culture and civilization.
By debating on various issues outlined in the module, we ensure that our students have the ability to make logical & rational arguments and at the same time defend their position and hold their stance.

At the same time, through the Law Clinic, our students will have the opportunity to develop analytical from direct experience, as well as gain insight into a lawyer's role involving factual investigation, research, problem solving, client relations, and professional responsibility and thereby be prepared for successful entry into the legal profession whilst still in school. The students will work closely on the cases and research on topics under the direct supervision of Law Clinic’s faculty and practicing lawyers. The Themis Law Clinic is very intensive and requires strong dedication and commitment by the student members. Therefore, only such students are selected for the Law Clinic who have a strong inclination towards practical legal tasks and who would honour the commitment towards the Clinic.

Themis School of Law is a place where one can find an amalgamation of academic learning, fun, lore and extra curricular
activities. It not only provided me with a platform to enhance my capabilities and an
opportunity to showcase them but also helped me learn all soft skills that are highly
required today in the world out there. All the faculties are enthusiastic and always
ready to help. It is a place where your voice is heard and your opinion counts. I am glad that i chose Themis School of Law to start
my career in the field of law.
I was always very passionate about joining law school. I saw it as a platform to enhance person-al traits, add new attributes to my personality and a place to cherish my accomplishments. I
feel so proud to say that Themis as a Law school has satisfied every inch of those aspirations.
Additionally it gave me a whole new perspective of a law school. The confidence they put in me made me stronger each day of this academic
year. The people they placed with me became my strong ties! The exposure they gave, made me feel like a member of the prestigious legal fraternity. Maybe this is what makes Themis a dedicated law school. Dedicated to bring about
change in the legal realm of Pakistan! Godspeed.

Being a part of Themis School of Law for more than 2 years have been exceptionally
advantageous to me in terms of my education, career, and personal growth. The experienced
faculty, balanced modules, interactiveextracurriculars, and first class results are the core ingredients that make Themis School of Law one of the best law schools of Pakistan.
My time spent here has been more thanworthwhile and the environment provided has
helped me grow immensely.
I would strongly recommend Themis School of Law to anyone trying to pursue their career in Law. Themis School of Law has been providing more individual attention to students in their
LLB Hons. Degree which is not the usualpractice at University Level. The individual
attention provided by lecturers, counsellors and the management motivates us to work harder and perform better! It allows us to identify our
weaknesses and ways of improvement inprofessional, educational and personal growth.
I could not have had made a better choice.

It was always a dream of mine, entering a Law School to better find my inner self. Coming to Themis surely fulfilled myconscience and made me dream even
higher. I was exposed to many projects and opportunities so that I could grow as a person and can try to make a positive
change in society.
The spirit of Themis, for me during the fruitful time I have spent here has been
espoused by its prolific educators, who have always taught us how to have intellectually stimulating conversations regarding legal
philosophy. Themis, to me, has been a place where we, as a collective have uncovered the state of the legal world at its present time and how it impacts more spheres of
our life than we had previously thought of.
