the many assets that make this community truly special.
I f tennis is your game, then we

features three hard courts with
lights for night play and two Har-Tru
clay courts, the only ones in the area.

throughout the year for all levels of

Monday nights, and the Women’s
Tennis Association plays on
Wednesday nights during the summer
months. Our tennis staff also has lesson
times available for private and group
instruction for those who want to
improve their game. Our BCC Junior

throughout the year. We also plan a
number of junior tennis parties,

mixed doubles member-member, and
various themed tennis socials like
wooden racket night and poker night.

B lacksburg Country Club features an 18-hole golf course,
designed by former president of the American Society of
Golf Course Architects, Ferdinand Garbin. The Club is
known for its peaceful atmosphere and scenic view of the
mountains. The Club has the luxury of two equal and challenging nine
hole courses with a slope of 128 from the championship tees. It is a
member-friendly golf course with forgiving fairways and greens and
four different sets of tees to match any skill level. The North Fork of
the Roanoke River meanders through the course, coming into play on
several holes, along with more than 60 sand bunkers. At BCC, there
are never tee times during the weekdays - just come out and play golf
at your convenience.
Our PGA professionals can enter you into our weekly golf events or
provide the perfect lesson to take care of that hook or slice. Private
lessons, beginner ladies clinics, and junior golf camps are tailored to
meet your needs and help get more from your golf game.
Our membership is extremely active, providing you many
opportunities to become involved at the Club. Our men’s golf
association has more than 175 members with weekly play every
Wednesday night. The Club also has a very active Women’s Golf
Association, with organized play on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Our
Senior Men’s Golf Association plays more than 15 home and away
matches each summer and Couple’s Golf tees off every Friday night
during the summer and then enjoys dinner on the patio as the sun
sets.
Blacksburg Country Club has the strongest junior golf program in
southwest Virginia. Our juniors participate in the highly competitive
Roanoke Valley Junior Golf Tour and play at other private clubs
throughout the region. In the past decade alone, BCC has produced
five golfers who have been ranked in the top 500 worldwide as junior
golfers. Eight golfers have gone on to play collegiately with six of
those playing at Division I institutions.
For our youngest junior golfers (ages 3-6) SNAG Golf serves a great
introduction into the game. SNAG, an acronym for Starting New At
Golf, is a unique new approach to learning golf. Specially designed
equipment and easy to understand instructions allows the entry-level
golfer to learn quickly, anywhere! SNAG golf is a year-round program
at BCC and is taught weekly by our professional staff.
