Props, Pops & Poses: Emily's Engagement Session Inspiration Soft colors, natural light, and a romantic, rustic aesthetic — yep, this week’s Props, Pops & Poses post has definitely earned a place in my heart! And the best part? It was all thoughtly crafted by Emily, one of George Street’s very own Wedding Consultants! Honestly, after getting the inside scoop on her dream e- session, I think this girl and I are kindred spirits! If you’ve got a penchant for natural beauty and the simple pleasures of life, then scroll down and see it all for yourself! 1. Dreamy and romantic, or vibrant and colorful? Spill the details on what “look and feel” you envision for your ideal engagement session! That’s an easy one for me! When I imagine my dream e-session, I picture it being very natural and soft! Warm and earthy tones definitely fit in with my style. I’m so inspired by brands like Anthropologie, and I think my session would embody the same aesthetic! 2. Location, location, location!! If you could pick any spot to shoot your session, where would it be?! I’m from Oklahoma, so I like it sweet and simple! I’d love any type of outdoor space where we could be surrounded by nature! I’m thinking gardens, fields, areas filled with gorgeous florals and plants…I think those elements would look stunning in any engagement photo! 3. A little bit of color can go a long way! What stunning shades best characterize your engagement session style? My heart beats for all things rustic and romantic! Soft, pastel colors make up a huge part of that — greys, teals and lilacs would totally complement the natural scenery we’d be surrounded by. After all, as the saying goes, less is definitely more (for me, at least)! 4. Sweet signs, a picnic for two…there’s no doubt props can add an extra dose of pizzazz to any e- session! What props — if any — would you include in your session? To me, the perfect lighting, color and overall feel are so important to an engagement session. In my opinion, a beautiful atmosphere is a prop in itself! I’d want the focus to be on the bond I share with my fiance, so if I did incorporate a prop, it’d have to be something very natural that would make sense for me and my true love! 5. Engagement photos are all about capturing that newly engaged glow! During your dream engagement session, would you plan to strike a pose or simply live in the moment? I bet you can guess my answer to this one! I would want my engagement session to simply capture our happiness during that time in our lives. Nothing too staged or extravagant — just us simply being in love with one another!
