The proposal is a result of the requests made by local residents and business groups to provide a public toilet facility to cater for the increasing popularity of the shopping strip. Scope The proposal includes: - Construction of a new 1 pan unisex accessible public toilet & change room facility - Minor pedestrian access to the car park modifications to increase safety Features The new facility will feature: - new contemporary design - robust and vandal resistant construction - stainless steel sanitary fixtures including toilet pan, accessible railings, basin, shelf and baby change table - unisex accessible facilities that will surpass future accessibility standards - a highly visible location to minimise crime As a result of the toilet facility redevelopment, minor car park alterations will be required. These proposed car park alterations will result in a loss of 3 standard car park spaces as a substitute for new & improved public facilities. There will be no loss to wheelchair accessible car parks. Construction Period Late January 2013 - early April 2013 (outside school holidays) Carparking - Several car parks, maximum 6 at a time will be unavailable during construction period. The City of Greater Geelong is proposing to build a new public toilet facility in the car park of the Vines Roadshopping strip. The proposal is a result of the requests made by local residents and business groups toprovide a public toilet facility to cater for the increasing popularity of the shopping strip.
