you never change things by fighting the existing reality. to change something, build a new model that makes the
existing model obsolete.
R. Buckminster Fuller
The moon is noT a harsh mis-Tress euler
2061
the proposal for the Moon colony euler stemmed from a shared interest in successful urban planning, masterpiece architecture,
and a love of the Moon and the promise of a better future there. It evolved from an obsession with space to an exercise in conceptual
design thinking and applied positive energy. In the past decade, human beings have faced devastating truths about the future of life on earth. the purpose of this colony is to
consider and utilize elements of what’s great about this planet and simultaneously acknowledge what isn’t working. We’ve taken what
we learned (through extensive research in multiple fields*) and injected it with a bit of fantasy that anything will be possible in the
future. In one way, the Moon colony is our way of ‘upcycling’ the earth into the Moon.
*moon geology, ecology, myths and philosophy, exploration and potential for future
colonization; city planning, urban systems, quality of life index, sustainability; revolutionary and
unconventional forms in architecture, “green” building materials, shelters and isolated living systems; art inspired by space and the moon, sculptural forms
reflective of architecture; biophilia and human reliance on nature; and LED circuitry. (See
