INTRODUCTION
1.1 Background of study:
Job analysis is the process of determining what will be done in a job. Major elements of
job analysis are: a) job description and b) job specification
The process of job analysis requires doing the following:
Job Analysis Select Jobs for Analysis Determine What Information to Collect
Determine How to Collect the Information Determine Who Collects the Information Process the Information Write Job Descriptions and Specifications
Job design means to decide the contents of a job. It fixes the duties and responsibilities of
the job, the methods of doing the job and the relationships between the job holder (manager)
and his superiors, subordinates and colleagues.
Poorly designed jobs can lead to unnecessary stress and low job satisfaction. Five
techniques are commonly used in job redesign:
job simplification job enlargement job enrichment job rotation
Factor affecting job design is:

1.2 Background of company:
Nepal telecom is one of the leading telecommunication services providing company which
has been focusing on customer satisfaction and their needs. It has improved a lot as
compared to the last 10 years
After serving the nation for 29 years with great pride and a sense of accomplishment, Nepal
Telecommunication Corporation was transformed into Nepal Doorsanchar Company
Limited from Baisakh 1, 2061. Nepal Doorsanchar Company Limited is a company
registered under the companies Act 2053. However the company is known to the general
public by the brand name Nepal Telecom as registered trademark.
Converting NT from government owned Monopoly Company to private owned, business
oriented, customer focused company in a competitive environment, Nepal Telecom invites
its all-probable shareholders in the sacred work of nation building.
Mission, vision and goal of company are:

committed to provide nation-wide reliable telecommunication service to serve as an impetus
to the social, political and economic development of the Country.

1.3 Statement of Problem:
In the past years mangers rather focuses on completion of task then making certain
strategies and planning, due to lack of growth of HR Nepal. Rapidly it is being welcome by
all. So problems concerned with the job are somehow minimized but still old traditional
culture becomes obstacles in the way.Employer or employee appointed for specific jobsbut
are unable to use their skill and talent. Company is gradually adopting the changes and
divided the workforce as well as created certain departments for performing specific kinds
of jobs.
Are jobs changing in a way that makes them more fluid and flexible? Is Departmental and Structuring as a road map to integration and
synchronizing?
How the Division of workforce lead to uniformity or deformities?
1.4Objective of Study:
To assist in the preparation of up-to-date job description and job specification To ensure effectiveness of recruitment exercise This analysis provides support for the accomplishment of our organization's
strategic business objectives.
1.5 Significance of study:
This research will be help for for those who are willing to know about the job
analysis process of Nepal Telecom. It will also act as a guide for management students.
This study deals with the different method and procedure concerned with jobs analysis
and job design and how to overcome through the related problems. It also emphasis on
requirement of HR as time passes and changes that have been takes place.

1.6 Research Methodology:
1.6.1 Research Design
As researcher both descriptive as well as analytical research design researcher will bedealing with. In Descriptive Researcher be deals with the problems identification and
finding where as analytical is concerned with analyzing.
1.6.2 Population and Sample
As per the time passed by company company itself has changed a lot during the period of
government to semi government. One has realized about the importance of HR practices
and has implemented it as core ones. Using random sampling method equal chance of beingselected and there are no subgroups known within the population. Size of sample will be
selected from different departments and it will be analyzed keeping jobs related issues in
mind. It depends upon population 20% of population as sample size.
1.6.3 Source of Data:
It is one of the major tasks of researcher what types of is required and under what basis.
Concern with the source it can be primary such as reading the old records, books related to
the tropics, web sites, journals, preparation of questionnaire etc.1.6.4 Data Collection Technique:
Both the primary as well as secondary data collection technique will be used as per their
requirement. As per the primary purposes preparation of questionnaire and checklists will
be used where as for secondary journals, websites, course books and material will be used.
1.6.5 Data Analyzing Tools:
For the calculation purposes statistical tools will be used. Such as
Mean: it is the sum of one satisfied/ not satisfied with the job divided by total population
Standard deviation: it is the positive square root of mean of the square of deviation taken
from arithmetic mean.
1.7 Limitation of study:
As per the requirement of MBA degree we need to prepare a project report. A
research is based on certain assumption and limitation. Here is some of limitation
listed below:
This study deals with different types of jobs and its design from the companypoint of view.

This research is completely based on data provided by the company andcollection of data from different sources.
Time also plays a crucial role as it has to be completed during certain period. The study is truly based from HRM prospective.
1.8 Organization of Study:
Research work is divided under five chapters. A short review is as follows:
Chapter 1: this section deals with introduction, background of study, objectives and
significance of study, statement of problem, research methodology and its limitation of
study.
Chapter 2: It deals with the literature review.
Chapter 3: This unit deals with methodology of research as research design, source of data,
population and sample of data analysis, tools and techniques in analyzing.
Chapter 4: These units deal with analyzing and interruption of data primary as well as
secondary data. It is the main section which deals with calculation parts.
Chapter 5: finally bibliography and appendices will be included to support the study.
