Proposal forFAI World Championship

for soaring model aircraft (F3J)

Participation

Each member of the FAI may enter a team consisting of :• Team manager (plus possible Assistant).• Maximum 3 senior competitors.• Maximum 3 junior competitors - age limit 18 years in the years 2010.• In addition, the reigning senior F3J World Champion.• In addition, if not in the team, the reigning F3J Junior World Champion if not included in the National team (may participate as senior, if already not comply with junior age limit).• Official helpers and supporters.

Weather

In mid-summer the weather is usually sunny and hot (dailytemperatures around 25° C - 30° C).Successive bulletins from theregional weather forecast officewill be published twice a day.

Competition rules

The FAI Sporting Code will be applied.

Sporting licences

FAI valid sporting licences will be mandatory for each competitor, team manager, team managerassistant or helpers.

Official languages

The official languages will be English and French.

Entry fees

• Team Manager (and Assitant) - Senior competitor : 240 e• Junior competitor : 150 e• Helper and supporter : 50 e

Protest fees

The protest fee is fixed at 35 e.

Site location

The competition will take placeon the Arbois airfield usuallyreserved for the sailplanes.Arbois is a little town mountainsof the Jura located in region ofFranche-Comté (North East ofFance) between the town of Doleand the Swiss border.Arbois is the Jura’s capital ofwine well known for his yellowwine and a city of character.

Organisers

The 2010 F3-World Championshipwill be organised by the Frenchfederation of aeromodelling (FFAM)and the local model air clubof Sermange.Since 2005 the model air club ofSermange is the organizer of theJura’s cup one of the mostimportant contest (138 pilots in2007 and 139 registrations inmarch 2008).It’s more than 30 persons tomake this contest so appreciatein Europe in only 4 years.

FAI Jury

The FAI jury will be desinedaccording to Sport Code.

Arrival day.

15th August (Sunday)

Model processing (in hangar) and official training.

Opening ceremony of WCh in center of Arbois

and invitation of the teams at the city hall of Arbois.

Team-manager Meeting.

16th August 2010 (Monday) to

20th August morning (Friday)

Qualifying rounds.

20th August afternoon (Friday)

Final rounds.

21th August (Saturday)

Reserve day – Free guided visit of Arbois.

Awards ceremony.

Banquet.

22th August (Sunday)

Departure day.

Lodging

Lodging will be organised in hotels, camping.Camping will be available on the spot with showers and toilets.

Catering

Lunch and dinner will be organised on the spot. Cold meals for lunch and classical hot meals for dinner.Banquet will be organised.

Other facilities

• For camping : there will be a camp site organised on the field with toilets, showers and some shops.• For shopping : the site is located close from supermarkets.• Safety : all along the competition the site will be secured by police (night and day).• Emergency : first aid service will be provide on the field (with doctor).
