1. Lost kids tracking device

Problem statement

Nowadays, there are cases where children get lost from their parent when the family go for shopping for example. In order to overcome this problem, we invent a device like a bracelet or wristband to be wore by the children.

Methodology

Once the device are switched on, a certain distance about 10 meters is set as the maximum distance that the children may be away from their parents. If the distance exceed the maximum distance, the device will send signals to notify the parents about their children by vibration and sound. The parents can notice immediately to find the children.

Transmission of signal

We will use Bluetooth as the transmission of the signal. Due to some studies compared to infrared

Specification Infrared BLUETOOTH

Number of devices that can

communicate simultaneously

Only two devices may communicate with

each other

Multiple devices may communicate with

each other within a specific operating

distance

Line of sight

Transmitters and receivers must be

almost directly aligned (i.e., able to see

each other)

May operate without being in direct line-

of-sight

Transmission impediments

Range Performance drops with distance Performance better than IR with distance

Speed Data transmission rate fairly slowData transmission rate slightly lower than

typical wired transmissions

Real-time locating system

RTLS are enabled by Wireless LAN systems (according to IEEE 802.11) or other wireless systems (according to IEEE 802.15) with multilateration. Such equipment is suitable for certain confined areas, such as campuses and office buildings. RTLS require system-level deployments and server func tions to be effective. RTLS systems are affordable and accurate for industrial and yard applications. RTLS systems are not appropriate for all indoor applications, there fuzzy locating systems with unilateration may apply more economically.

Impact

The lost kid cases can be reduced significantly as the device helps to notify the parents once the kids are located more than 10 meters from the parents.

2. Auto medicine box

Problem statementThe old people that usually have many kinds of disease. Therefore, they have to take some of medicine in a certain time at a certain dosage of medicine. The problem is some of them do not understand the instruction and sometimes, they forget to consume the medicine.

Methodology

We design a product something like electronic box where we just have to set few settings earlier such as:-

(1) Dosage(2) Time (3) Duration

The auto medicine box will notify by sound when the time to have the medicine reached. In the same time, a certain dosage of medicine will be come out from the box (whether in liquid or pill)

Impact

Our supervision for the old people become more organized and better as the automatic medicine box helps us to remind and give the correct dosage of medicine. Maybe this invention may save many life as old people take medicine on time. Thus, the health quality will be increase.

3. Waste trap management

Problem statement

The sink get clogged due to some of the food waste that stuck in the pipe. Sometimes, the air from the septic tank through this pipe give bad smell in your house. The current system uses water as the seal to prevent the odor escaping the pipe.
