  BRIEF AND AIMS: 

Isha Shah to direct and produceAlone Tonight – “Lullabies and Alib’is”

  To make a music video that contains typical conventions of the chosen genre, in this case pop punk.

To create a music video to the song by the Indie band ‘Alone Tonight’ called ‘Lullabies and Alibi's”

Description of your intentions:

The song is long in length as it reaches 4:10 altogether, however I will cut part of the intro as this takes up 40 seconds and some of the out-tro in order to keep my audiences on the ball and interested. 

The main features include a lot of fast moving cuts, which conform to the conventions as one shot is never too longer, however I will use this to highlight key points in the narrative making it clear.

I have then chosen to use a lot of close ups and mid shots throughout, showing the band before together and then little shots of them individually. The main narrative follows a three picture pattern. The band setting out to the new city on the road, them on stage performing, their fans reaction and interaction, them packing up and then them off the stage, in the town. This then repeats twice showing their journey and the tour life of being in a band.

Most of my footage will come from the camera being hand held as it create the atmosphere of the band being on tour, I also have a steady hand for me to capture the right length of things in time.

Target Audience:

My target audience is both male and female from the ages of 14-23 who live in big cities where big venues are around. They will be fans of rock, hardcore, punk and mainly pop punk music as I have found that they tend to live the similar genres around pop punk. This makes my music video appealing for a wider audiences as well as my target ones.

They are most likely to still be in education, have a part time job or unemployed as they would have just enough money to attend a regular gig and understand the atmosphere in which I have planted in my music video.

They will be grade A,C1 as they are middle classed and have money to spend on gigs. My audiences are easy to relate to because I am one of them. Also loving this genre and attending many gigs, I know exactly what my audiences want to see in my music video as I will be the best person to try and include them.

Most of my audience would be populated in London as well as other major cities all over the UK, but anyone who loves the genre will be drawn to it.

Here is a typical American pop punk making a similar music video to mine where the focus on the band more in a new environment of London, “roaming” the town and then back at the show.

As they have shown their journey in one destination, a festival in America. Using different affects and angles in each one, both bands have managed to convey the narrative well.
