In her ongoingcampaign to teachCanadians aboutcreating wealth andtaking control oftheir financial situ-ation she has alsowritten six best-sell-ing books.
For the past ten years, shehas been a regular commen-tator on BNN. Since March2012, Lovett-Reid has beensharing her financial exper-tise on her new call-in serieson CTV News Channel, air-ingThursdays at 8 p.m., whereshe explains easy-to-followsteps to balancing your per-sonal financial sheet. “I putthe pieces of the financialpuzzle together for all of us tounderstand.”

Q:Howwould you describeyour home in twowords?
A: Organic and comforta-ble.
Q: Tell us about your home.A : O u r h o m e i s a
3,200-square foot town-house with four levels. It isfive-years-old and we movedin 2008. It is located on LakeOntario in Toronto.
Q: What attracted you tothis space?
A: I fell in lovewith the lake.There is a different panoramicview every single day.
Q:Who shares your home?A: We are now empty
nesters and I share the homewith my wonderful husbandJim.
Q: What is your favouriteroom andwhy?
A: The sitting area in thekitchen where we sit togetherevery morning and watch thesun rise and talk about eve-rything. It is also my favouritetime of the day together.
Q:Howwould you describeyour decorating style?
A: Warm and minimalist.I hate clutter or being disor-ganized. I love clean lines thatare enhanced by a little char-acter, texture or fabric choice.I enjoy the outdoors and liketo bring some of nature intoour home in subtle ways.
In this home my neighbourLisa Rogers (design expert)offered to help me decorateand I jumped at the chance.They say opposites attract andsomehow that works in ourlife and in our home.There iscontemporary art on thewallsof the living room.The kitchenis white with a dark brownisland. The bedroom is alsowhite with the accent coloursof dove grey and caramel.Thebedroom is very cozy with afireplace, TV and a huge mir-ror that reflects themoon.
Q: What is your fondestmemory in this home?
A: We hosted a family bar-beque out on the back deckon a warm summer evening.There was a full moon reflect-ing off the lake, a fire burnerglowing softly in the cor-ner with music playing inthe background. I rememberthinking “Life does not getbetter than thismoment.”
Q: What’s the one item inthis house you can’t live with-out?
A:My family would like meto say I can’t live without thestove. Unfortunately I can’tcook; even when I try to cookthe family suggests I don’t. Icouldn’t live without our bar-beque which my husbanduses and saves us all fromgoing hungry.
Q:Weekends at home, whatare we most likely to find youdoing?
A:On the weekends we arerarely home— we are alwayson the move. I go to Red TreeBikram Hot Yoga. I enjoywalking, working out with mytrainer and when I do land athome I’m on the deck in thesummer and in the great roomduring the winter.
Q: If your walls could talk,what would they say?
A: My walls would tell youI feel so lucky to be living thetruly great life I am. I knowthat sounds cliché but I hon-estly have a wonderful family,great friends, I work with awe-some people and I don’t haveany regrets.

The City of Etobicoke is Toronto’s neighbour to the west and is in turn the neighbour of Mississauga to the east. Starting at Lake Ontario, Etobicoke stretches north to Steeles Avenue and north to the City of Vaughn. The actual area of Etobicoke is quite large and is home to number of great neighbourhoods. These neighbourhoods have great contrast in terms of price and offer a little bit of everything for everybody. Starting down near Lake Ontario, prospective renters can find few smaller neighbourhoods that tend to be a little more expensive depending on the neighbourhood’s proximity to the lake. New Toronto, which is located in the southern region of Etobicoke, is an interesting little community that really has an old fashioned feel to it. This area contains a wide range of prices and would be an excellent choice for a renter who wants to be situated close to downtown Toronto and not have the feeling of living downtown. As Etobicoke moves north away from the lake the number of residential areas increases greatly. The opportunity for a renter to find a spacious apartment
that is affordable and close to the city is very common. The areas of Eatonville, Humber Valley Village and Centennial Park are home to a great number of large apartmentcomplexes. These areas offer affordable housing while keeping downtown Toronto within a ten or fifteen drive and are accessible by public transportation. The area where these two highways meet provides some of Toronto’s best shopping. Sherway Gardens is another one of the Greater Toronto Areas great shopping malls. As like with the other giant malls, Sherway has everything everybody wants from a great number of stores to some excellent restaurants. Located at the northern end of Etobicoke is the Woodbine Centre. This is another giant large mall, which will certainly have everything that you could not find at Sherway Gardens. In addition to over 200 shops and services, the Woodbine Centre. Also features an indoor amusement park called Fantasy fair. Woodbine Centre is located at 500 Rexdale Blvd. and like Sherway Gardens, it is open seven days a week.
