Proof of improved contents page design process.
Charlie Vaughan
This is the contents page that I designed originally for my
magazine, I Used the magnetic marque tool to select a small
area of colour from the bottom left corner that I like to be the
basis of my new contents page design
This is what it looked like
Then I used the same method for making my Masthead in
creating a title for the contents page, shortening contents page
to Cont because it meant it would fit on the page, whilst still being associated with the word
contents
I then used the rectangle tool with the same colour as the columns on the old contents
page and a stroke of purple to coincide with the theme that I have maintained thought-out
the magazine.
This was placed using the horizontal text tool, with a drop
shadow placed behind by double clicking on the layer in
the layers side bar and checking the drop shadow box.
I then used a large font for the page number and a smaller
standard font. Size 12. to place the article title and a brief
description of the article. This was all written in word first and then added to the magazine to ensure the grammar is correct
This is how the page looks with the rest of the feature pages placed on it using the same
method
I placed the regulars heading with the horizontal text tool and
added the drop shadow to make it stand out on the page. It also the exact sane size as
the features heading.
I added the same rectangle as the features heading to the
regulars heading.
Used the same horizontal type tool, as well as font and size
along wit the number
This is the basis of the contnets page its self.
This shows that document that I produced with all the text from
the contents page on
This is how it looked on the page
Then I did the same with another image of Adam and
placed it like this.
Duplicating the left hand Lay-Z’s layer, flipping it horizontally and placing it on the right hand side gave this unique looking arrangement of the artist, next
to the main article of the magazine.
To design the BaseFace Live logo I used the original
masthead that I made, By selecting this part…….
And deleting it ……..
And selecting this part……..
And deleting it…….
I ended up with the basis of the BF live logo.
Placing a purple (Coinciding with the theme ) for the logo
This is the finished product..
