• A taskforce has been launched which looks into integrating portion sizes in the existing colour-coded R.I. scheme.

ENL Taskforce - objectives
1. Develop a recommendation for an approach to set sound portion sizes starting from existing sectorial guidelines. This will also be separately dealt with at category/sectorial level.
2. Outline options for the ‘evolved’ algorithm or other approaches to better integrate portion sizes.
3. Seek support from a scientific/nutrition perspective for the ‘evolved’ option(s) and recommend possible ‘evolved’ scenario on the basis of scientific and stakeholder input.
Circle 2 (Advisory) - scope of activities Review suggested options, recommend improvements to come to a workable solution and to assess credibility.

Current status & Next steps:
• Positive and constructive meeting with Circle 2 on 22 May
• Circle 1 to work on the algorithm and the portion elements, based on feedback/recommendations received from Circle 2
• Second meeting with Circle 2 - 21 or 22 June – for additional feedback/recommendations
• Meeting with Circle 3 and 2 – 11 or 13 July
