Prom at the Aquarium of the PacificThe Aquarium of the Pacific’s mission is to install a sense of wonder, respect, and stewardship for the Pacific Ocean, its inhabitants, and ecosystems.

The Aquarium showcases various regions of the Pacific Ocean and offers a variety of event spaces to enjoy. We offer sustainable, chef-crafted, and locally sourced menu collections. Our chef, managers, and staff are dedicated to providing you and your guests with a unique atmosphere for your event. Our commitment to quality ensures a stellar customer experience.

Aquarium Event Spaces

Great Hall - Seated holds up to 500 guests. Reception style holds up to 1,000 guests.Dive into a unique event when you dine and dance under the suspended replica of a life-sized blue whale and her calf. The first floor of the Aquarium has access to the Southern California/Baja Gallery, and the beautiful three-story Honda Blue Cavern exhibit provides a spectacular backdrop to the event space. From intimate gatherings to large-scale events, the Great Hall can be transformed to hold dinners and receptions.

Upper Level Galleries - Reception style holds up to 1,000 guests.Expand your guests’ experience with the upper level galleries. The Tropical Pacific Gallery represents the beautiful marine life you would find off the coast of Palau and other islands. The Northern Pacific Gallery represents the northernmost region of the Pacific Ocean, specifically habitats in and around the Bering Sea, and features such animals as puffins and sea otters. While enjoying drinks and appetizers, your guests can explore the variety of sea life on the second level. Everyone is sure to be captivated by the wonders these exhibits offer!

Shark Lagoon - Reception style holds up to 500 guests.Immerse your guests in Shark Lagoon and have an interactive event. This exhibit features over 150 sharks, some you can touch… and some that you can’t! This expansive outdoor exhibit lets you enjoy the SoCal weather during an intimate cocktail hour or reception-style event.

California Terrace - Reception style holds up to 100 guests.Our California Terrace is an add-on space that is located outside on the second floor. This area is home to our penguins, has a ray touchpool, and overlooks the Seals and Sea Lions Habitat. This space is a great location to introduce your guests to the Aquarium and is perfect for welcome drinks, cocktail hour, or a reception.

Café Scuba - Seated holds up to 50 guests. Reception style holds up to 100 guests.Our Café Scuba restaurant located on the second floor can be converted for private events. Enjoy the large patio with a view of Rainbow Harbor, floor-to-ceiling windows, and a place to view the Seals and Sea Lions Habitat.


Prom CollectionsThe Aquarium showcases various regions of the Pacific Ocean while offering a space that can hold up to 1,200 for school dances. With our knowledgeable special events team, innovative menus, and unique venue space, your occasion will have unlimited opportunities to become an unforgettable evening!

Prom collections include:

� Event Time: 8:00 p.m.-12:00 a.m.� Personalized Aquarium of the Pacific event ticket� Professionally designed buffet décor� Ice water and lemonade stations� Complimentary tables, chairs, appropriate dishware,

flatware standard linens for up to 20 tables, and 200 chairs, plus additional seating available for rent.

� Ten complimentary eight-foot tables for registration, coat check, and photos


Three-Course Plated Meal

Chicken Dinner$52++ Per Person

� Garden salad of mixed greens, shredded carrot, cucumber, and tomato with ranch dressing� Herb roasted chicken breast with citrus chicken au

jus over smashed red potatoes, baby French carrots, and asparagus cherry pepper garnish

� Flourless chocolate tart with berry puree and seasonal berry garnish

Short Rib Dinner $56++ Per Person� Garden salad of mixed greens, shredded carrot, cucumber, and tomato with ranch dressing � Cabernet braised beef short rib over smashed red

potatoes, baby French carrots, and asparagus cherry pepper garnish


Plated Options: All plated dinner options are available as buffet which will include penne pasta with marinara.

A $2.00 per person labor charge will be added all plated meal collections

� Herb roasted sustainable salmon with Dijon cream sauce over smashed red potatoes, baby French carrots, and asparagus cherry pepper garnish

FridayThere is a required minimum of 200 guests and event includes access to the Great Hall with our life-sized blue whale and calf, the Southern California/Baja Gallery featuring 18 unique exhibits and showcasing giant sea bass, harbor seals, sea lions, and leopard sharks.

Pacific Collections, Harbor Terrace, and Shark Lagoon will be open to the general public until 9:00 p.m. on Friday evenings.

SaturdayThere is a required minimum of 500 guests. With a guest count exceeding 450, the entire indoor facility, including the second floor, will be available for the event. The entire interior facility includes all of the above-mentioned exhibits plus the Tropical Pacific Gallery featuring the 350,000-gallon Tropical Reef exhibit and the Northern Pacific Gallery, where our sea otters reside.

Security OfficersTen professional security officers are required for rental of the entire facility, 8 for the Great Hall rental, and 3 additional officers are required if Café Scuba is rented. A bag check and pat down are required for all schools in addition to submission of designated security contact information for guards on site.

Prom guests will enter the Aquarium through the main entrance.

Booking Guidelines


Additional Items� Available stage rental: $200 per each 6’x8’ piece and includes stairs and skirting. There are a total of 6

pieces available.

� Thinking about karaoke, a presentation, or a school highlight video? The Ocean Theater is the perfect space! The Ocean Theater is available to rent for $300. No food or beverage is allowed inside the theater. Audio-visual is available in Ocean Theater upon request for an additional charge.

� Need a photo area or have your own photo booth? Café Scuba is the perfect location and can be rented for $700 for the entire evening.

� Great Hall projection system (8 projectors, video or PowerPoint with audio, and AV tech) $1,200 Aquarium Multimedia Shows (in Great Hall) $500.

� Heaters are available from October through May for $95 per heater.

� Costumed Characters - $150 for one hour, $300 for a maximum of 3 hours. The characters would be in costume for 20 minutes alternating with 20-minute rest periods.

� Amazing Photos: $250 for 2 hours. Photos are $19 each for a framed (acrylic) 8”x10” Amazing Photo (students heads imposed on illustrated background). They also offer a 6”x9” framed group entrance photo. We can also add a school logo (Aquarium approval required).

� Please note the max seated is 450 guests for a plated meal.
