What is Projector Friday?
Projector Friday is a platform for creative folk to present ideas they have or projects they’re involved in with the aim of collaborating with other creative individuals.
Through this collaborative platform we’re aiming to build a community of like-minded people - artists, designers, writers, tech developers, entrepreneurs and thinkers, bringing together all these unique skill sets in the hopes of initiating and evolving exciting creative projects.
At present this is a free and open platform where participants (both presenters and audiences) are neither offered nor charged any money.

Projector Friday is an initiative by Flying Cursor, a digital branding agency based in Mumbai.

What kind of topics can be presented?
We have no major restrictions as far as topics go. Our past presenters have covered topics as varied as film, travel, music, astronomy, street art and more. And we’re open to, if not keen on, more diversity in our presentations.
Any topic that encourages creative collaboration gets a thumbs-up from us.
Our only request is that our presenters avoid delving into anything too political, religious or otherwise inflammatory.

Is there a structure to the Presentation?
Nothing hard and fast. We follow a simple structure to keep things orderly. Most of our presenters are requested to limit their presentations to an hour including Q&A.
But you can let us know beforehand if you need more time.

In what format does one typically present?
We leave that entirely up to our presenters. We’re open to everything from PowerPoint presentations and slideshows to films and performance pieces. It’s up to presenters to decide how best to communicate their ideas and showcase their initiatives. If your presentation requires special arrangements (specifically with respect to tech support), we’d like to be informed at least 3 to 4 days prior to the presentation date. If needed, we’ll be happy to help you make the necessary arrangements.

Where are these presentations held?
Flying Cursor has access to a spacious terrace that accommodates up to 50 people. Most of our presentations have been held here.
However, our aim over time has been to take Projector Friday to public spaces. And we have ventured out in the past from touring the heart of Mumbai to camping on the outskirts of the city; I guess you could say we love the great outdoors!
If there is a public space that’s apt for the content / theme of your presentation we’d like you to identify such a venue and we’ll obtain the required permissions to have the presentation there.

Does it have to be held on Friday?
Nope!
Any day that works for you is fine by us but we prefer to have these presentations towards the end of the week or over the weekend.

How does one get started?
You begin by sending us a brief note describing the idea or initiative you wish to present, detailing the tech support you’ll require and selecting a suitable location where you’d like to have your presentation. This should ideally reach us at least one week prior to the presentation date.
We’ll follow that up with our questions, comments and suggestions and once those have been sorted we take things forward.
We’ll also be sending you a short form to fill out in which you give us details about yourself and your presentation content.
