Youth Manifesto• The dissemination of the Youth

Manifesto is important to the organization.

• It was developed by the Youth Committee between April and October 1998.

• It is integral to the organization’s teaching and works around the world.

• Discusses the important goals and ways to approach meeting those goals through the organization.

• Identifies the mission statement, core values, key objectives, and action areas.

Goals of the Program

• Young people must be informed and educated on sexuality and the best possible sexual and reproductive health services (including contraceptives).

• Young people must be able to be active citizens in their society.

• Young people must be able to have pleasure and confidence in relationships and all aspects of sexuality.

Page 7: Project%201[1]

Need in the Community?

• It is important to the community due to the amount of teenagers that get pregnant every year. This could effect anyone. The person getting pregnant and having a child at a young age could be your daughter, your sister, your son’s girlfriend, your brother’s girlfriend. It is something that can happen to anyone and that anyone could be effected by.

• It is needed so that those people can be informed and taught the correct way to deal with these things.

Just Think Foundation• The Just Think Foundation’s mission is to

have the youth today lead healthy, responsible lives.

• Their purpose is for the youth today to make healthy decisions that will help them lead those good lives.

• IPPF wants youth to make healthy decisions as well, specifically pertaining to their sex lives.

• Just Think and IPPF both promote youth living healthy lives and making correct decisions in those lives.

Teen pregnancy is an important matter in today’s society. Even

though it is not something that seems very important, it is. An unplanned pregnancy can effect someone both

mentally and physically, and not only is that person effected the people

around them are effected as well. It is important that the knowledge is

spread and this organization helps this goal become possible.

Why is it Important?

Critical Thinking and ActionThe ippf/youth manifesto is a part of critical thinking

because the organization not only teaches/covers on specific age group but it varies depending on the

person’s life for example: married, unmarried, religion, beliefs, ability, and life style. It evaluates

what young people need and connects feeling which are confidential, accessible, free from judgment,

and offer a complete range of services that young people may not get from their own families. The program also uses critical action by approaching

young people with health education and sexuality. The programs has also design a service for young

men to use sexual and reproductive health services. It emphasizes how young people must be supported by laws that allow them to act freely in the way they

choose to live their lives. Obstacles that make young people uncomfortable about themselves,

their bodies and their relationships must be removed. Young people must be encouraged to know their own sexual rights and to respect the rights of others. Young people's sexuality should

have a positive image in society. Society must recognize the right of all young people to enjoy sex and to express their sexuality in the way that they

choose.
